Here's how to add friends, send requests, accept invites, and play together in Monster Hunter Wilds. This guide also explains the differences between Hunter Friends and friends.

How to Send a Friend Request

Ask for their Hunter ID

To send a friend request, you will need the Hunter ID. Ask your friend to provide their Hunter ID, which can be found under the 'Hunter Profile' in the menu.

Open the 'Player List' from Menu

To send a friend request, open the 'Player List.'

Enter their Hunter ID in 'Hunter ID Search' tab

In the 'Hunter ID Search' tab on the far right of the Player List, enter the Hunter ID of the person you want to add as a friend.

Select 'Send Friend Request'

Select the name of your friend from the search results and choose 'Send Friend Request' to add them to your friend list.

Once accepted, you will become Hunter Friends

Once the friend approves the request, you will become Hunter Friends.

How to Accept a Friend Request

Since a Hunter ID is required for friend requests, be sure to share your Hunter ID with your friend, which can be found in the 'Hunter Profile' tab of the Menu.

Once you receive a friend request, it will appear in the Menu → Communication → Invite Notification List. Once accepted, you will become Hunter Friends.

You can Add Friends from 'Interaction History'

You can easily send a friend request from the 'Interaction History' list if you've already played multiplayer with the person.

Sending a Friend Request

Ask a Friend to Share their PS5 Online ID

To send a friend request, you will need an Online ID. Open the 'Profile' from the PS5 menu and ask your friend to provide their Online ID.

First, press the Home button on your PS5 and select 'Game Base' from the menu.

Select 'Search for Players' from the Friends tab

Next, select 'Search for Players' from the Friends tab.

Enter the Online ID & Send Friend Request

Enter your friend's Online ID and send a friend request.

Once Accepted, you will become Friends

Once the request you sent is approved by your friend, you will become friends.

How to Accept a Friend Request

To send a friend request, you will need to give your Online ID to your friend, so open 'Profile' in the PS5 menu and check your Online ID.

Finally, once you approve the friend request sent to you, the friend registration will be complete, and you will become friends.

How to Play with Friends

  1. Select 'Invite to Link Party' from the Menu
  2. Invite to Link Party using Hunter Friend list
  3. After forming a Party, you can Play Multiplayer

Step 1 - Select 'Invite to Link Party' from the Menu

To form a Link Party with your Hunter Friends and play together, go to Menu → Communication → Link Party and then choose 'Invite to Link Party.'

From Player List, open the Hunter Friend tab and select the Hunter Friend you want to play with.

Step 3 - After forming a Party, you can Play Multiplayer

By forming a party, you can play together in Link Member Quest or explore the field together through Environment Link.

How To Join Multiplayer
  1. Select 'Invite a Friend' from Menu
  2. Invite Friends *There are two methods available
  3. Once Invitation is Accepted, a Party will be Formed
  4. Play in Multiplayer

Step 1 - Select 'Invite a Friend' from Menu

Open your menu and click on 'Invite a Friend.'

Invite friends by selecting 'Select Player' or 'Share Link/QR.'

When you choose 'Select Player,' your friend list will appear. From there, send an invite to the friend you want to play with.

When you select 'Share Link,' a QR code will appear, and an invitation URL will be generated. Have your friend click the invitation URL to join.

However, your friend needs to be logged into the platform's account where they are playing Monster Hunter Wilds via a browser in order to use the invitation link.

Step 3 - Once Invitation is Accepted, a Party will be Formed

Once the invitation is complete, the Link Party will be automatically formed.

Step 4 - Play in Multiplayer

After the Link Party is formed, you can play together in Link Member Quest or explore the field together through Environment Link.

How to Play with Unadded Friends

  1. Check Hunter ID from Hunter Profile
  2. Open 'Link Party' Invitation screen
  3. Enter Friend's Hunter ID & Create a Link Party

To play multiplayer with a specific person, you will need their Hunter ID. Ask for their Hunter ID which can be found from the 'Hunter Profile' in the menu.

Next, to create a Link Party, select 'Invite to Link Party' from the 'Link Party' in the menu.

Step 3 - Enter Friend's Hunter ID & Create a Link Party

In the 'Hunter ID Search' tab on the far right of the Player List, enter the Hunter ID of the person, select their name, and then invite them to join the Link Party.

Once a Link Party is formed, you can Play Together in the Same Quest

While in a Link Party, a quest participation notification will be automatically sent, allowing you to join the same quest for multiplayer gameplay.

Additionally, you can use features like party-exclusive chat and environment links to explore the field with your friends.

How To Join Multiplayer

Become a Hunter Friend!

Make sure to register your Link Party members as a Hunter Friend. By becoming a Hunter Friend, you can invite them to a Link Party without inputting their Hunter ID.

Difference Between Friends vs. Hunter Friends

Friend- Platform-exlusive friend.
└Carried over to other games.
- Users from other platforms cannot add.
Hunter Friend- Monster Hunter Wilds-exclusive friend.
- Users from other platforms can also add.

Hunter Friends can Add Anyone

'Hunter Friends' have the significant advantage of adding anyone without worrying about platform differences. 'Friends,' on the other hand, are limited to connections within the same platform.

Play with Friends on Different Platforms as Hunter Friends

If you often play with friends on different platforms, it's recommended to use Hunter Friends.

'Friends' are linked to the platform's system, so you can play games with friends other than Monster Hunter Wilds.
