Efficient Selection of Confirmed Gold Crown Quest

Spawning Monsters in On-Field

  1. Rest to make the monster you want appear
  2. Check on the target monster with the Binoculars
  3. Return to the title screen without saving if it is not a Gold Crown
  4. Repeat until the Gold Crown appears
  5. Save it as a quest once you get a Gold Crown

Rest to Make the Monster You Want Appear

First, head to the locale where the monster you want to aim for the Golden Crown usually spawns, then rest at the camp until this monster appears. If you're aiming for the Apex/Guardian monster, don't forget to set the appropriate Environment when you rest.

Check on the Target Monster with the Binoculars

When the target monster appears, approach it while checking its size with your Binoculars. A crown icon will appear above the monster's name if it is indeed a Gold Crown.

Return to the Title Screen Without Saving if it is Not a Gold Crown

If the spawned monster is confirmed to not be Gold Crown Size, return to the title without saving from the menu. Then when you start the game again, the monsters in the area will remain the same, but their sizes should have changed.

Repeat Until the Gold Crown appears

Replay the Following Steps
1Check the target monster with Binoculars
2Go to title without saving if it is not a Gold Crown monster

Repeat the above process until you get the golden crown size.

Save it as a Quest Once You Get a Gold Crown

When you get the Gold Crown of the monster you want, open the map and select the monster icon to turn it into a quest then save it as an "Investigation" quest. Now you can do the "Guaranteed Gold Crown Quest" at any time to replay the Hunt as many times as you want.

  1. Rest to make the monster you want appear
  2. Check the size with the Binoculars
  3. Change your location if it's not gold crown size
  4. Repeat until the gold crown appears
  5. Save it as a quest once you get a Gold Crown

First, rest at your camp until the monster you want to aim for the Golden Crown appears at the Wounded Hollow. There is no camp at the Wounded Hollow, so you must rest at another Locale.

Check the Size with the Binoculars

Change Your Location if it's Not Gold Crown Size

If the monster you spawned is not the size of a Gold Crown, select another locale from the area map, move there, and return to the Wounded Hollow again. The monsters in the area will remain the same, but the size should have changed.

Repeat Until the Gold Crown Appears

One of the only official guaranteed Gold Crown quests in Monster Hunter Wilds is the Alpha Doshaguma hunt, which you first attempt in Chapter 1-4. Other permanent quests that anyone can challenge, such as free quests, do not have a guaranteed Gold Crown unlike this one. Look forward to the addition of event quests and more in the future that may possibly add other guaranteed Gold Crown monsters.

Investigation Saved with Gold Crown Monster

During exploration, investigation quests saved with Gold Crown monsters will become guaranteed Gold Crown quests. It will keep the size of the Monster that you initially used to make the quest when you deploy the Investigation. You can also play it in multiplayer, so you can work together with friends to hunt for your missing Gold Crown monsters.

What is a Guaranteed Gold Crown Quest?

Quests that Ensure a Gold Crown Size Monster

A guaranteed Gold Crown quest is a quest that ensures the appearance of a monster with its Gold Crown (Biggest / Smallest) size. By defeating multiple gold-crowned monsters, you can obtain "medals or trophies."
