How to Cure and Countermeasures

Status effects in Monster Hunter Wilds can be cured by using special items. The methods and items to cure each status ailment are different, so be prepared to respond immediately when you get a status ailment.

Easy to Recover with Optimal State Recovery

There is a newly added Radial Menu option in Monster Hunter Wilds. If you select Optimum State Recover, the appropriate item will be automatically used. It is very easy to use, so be sure to have it ready.

Radial Menu Guide

Expires Naturally or by Exiting the AoE

Some status effects are cured over time, and some are removed by leaving the area of effect. However, there are many dangerous status effects if left untreated, so use items to cure them as soon as possible.

Check the Duration of Status Effects

In Monster Hunter Wilds, you can now check the remaining time of a status ailment that the Hunter receives on the screen. Use this as an indicator for when to remove status effects.

Melodies Grant Resistances and Cures

Some status ailments can be immunized and cured using Melody Effects of the Hunting Horn. You can opt to carry it as a secondary weapon if you want to save items.

Counter with Armor and Decoration Skills

Most status effects such as Stun and Paralysis can be countered with armor and decoration skills. If you're heading to a monster or area that will inflict a status ailment, make sure to have the right equipment in advance with skills that can reduce or negate it.

How to Apply Status Effects

Use Status Effect Weapons and Items

Status Effects can be applied to monsters in Monster Hunter Wilds with items and Status Effect weapons. Basically, it is necessary to accumulate status effect values, so repeatedly use attacks with the Poison Element for Poison and Paralysis Element for Paralysis.

Accumulates when an Effect Occurs

Status Effects accumulate when you attack a monster and you see the visualized effect. Melee weapons accumulate status effects by chance, while vials and ammo from ranged weapons always accumulate the effects.

Use Endemic Life to Inflict Status Effects

Paratoads and Flashflies are examples of Endemic life that can also be used to apply status ailments. You can check the location of Endemic Life on the map, so use it wisely in battle.

Repeated Infliction Decreases Potency

In many cases, once a monster is inflicted by a status effect, it will take a longer time for it to become affected by the same status effect again. The duration of the effect also gets shorter, so the more you use it, the less effective it becomes.
