Lan Yan is a flexible character who can be built as a shield support or DPS. As support, she can give shield and hold VV to shred the Elemental RES of enemies. As DPS, she can be the main damage dealer or a hybrid Swirl DPS/Support.
Both her support and DPS build have equal value in a team but support Lan Yan is easier to build due to only needing ATK stats

A standard Vaporize Arlecchino team. Lan Yan's Skill dash can easily reach enemies and make it easier for melee DPS to deal damage quickly. VV and Thrilling Tales can buff the DPS' damage greatly.

Electro-Charged is the best reaction for EM-scaling DPS, but other reactions can work as well. Lan Yan can use Gilded Dreams and Widsith (only if it has high refines) in this team. However, VV is able to give Anemo DMG Bonus and Swirl DMG Bonus. Since Key and Elegy are able to buff EM, buffing Lan Yan's Elemental Damage with Cinder City set will increase her overall damage.

Electro-Charged does not have a strict rotation requirement. Any of the Hydro/Electro characters can go first but make sure Ororon goes before Lan Yan so he can charge her Energy. Lan Yan can be swapped in any time if the Hydro and Electro off-field damage dealers are placed

This team sole purpose is to increase Lan Yan's damage. Lan Yan can use Widsith if it has high refines and Albedo's artifact set can be changed to Instructor if wanting more Elemental Mastery. Sacrificial Fragments can be used if wanting to spam Lan Yan's Skill. But without a CRIT stat weapon, her artifact stat requirements will be higher.
