A Cruel Chessboard Battlefield

This mini-game is similar to a chessboard battlefield challenge, where players deploy different kinds of creatures to defeat all the opposing units. This event consists of a total of 3 acts, featuring 8 challenge zones and 2 boss fights.

Companion Caper Chronicles Gameplay Tips

Prioritize Acquiring Units Of The Same Type/Race

The goal of the Companion Caper Chronicles mini game is to go through each act and defeat the boss at the end of the stage. When starting out, your priority should be to have four types of units of the same race. This is so you can activate the unique effects per race.

Upgrade By Collecting Units Of The Same Type

Once you have all of the race pieces, it's time to upgrade them with the goal of getting them to 3 stars before reaching the final boss of the stage. 3 units will create a 2-star, while 7 units will create a 3-star.

Stick To One Race For The Units

When collecting units, make sure to only stick to the units within the same race you are building. Since coins and rerolls are limited, it's best to stick to a single race from the very start of the game.

Equip Units With The Right Equipment

As you go through the stages, make sure to equip any equipment you have to the units that best fits their use. When choosing equipment, consider the compatibility with the units. Check the equipment's details to get a better grasp of what it does and to which unit it is best used. Take note as well that units cannot have two of the same equipment (different rarities).

Make Use Of Higher Quality Equipment

Items have their own rarity with higher ranked equipment providing better performance. Equipment can be changed and added during the preparation stage of each fight, so make sure to switch them in and out before starting the fight.

Sell Any Unused Equipment At The Shop

When you get to the shop, you will have the option to buy new equipment and sell any of the ones you have. Selling and buying equipment can only be done here. If you don't use one of your equipments, it's better to just sell it for extra coin.

Arrange Your Units Accordingly

Where you place your units is very important during combat. There are two types of units: Melee and Ranged. Melee is recommended to stand right in front or next to enemies, while Ranged units should be further away.

Spread Them Out To Avoid AOE Attacks

Some enemies have attacks that affect an entire area. Be wary of this as you place your units down. Try to spread them out to prevent them from all being hit at once.

Check The Rewards You Can Get

Since each stage and the rewards are random, it's best to make it a habit to check them. Some challenges offer better rewards with the downside of having to fight stronger enemies. It's best to always choose based on your strength at that stage.

Weight of the Weak	Priority: ★★・ - - Special Features is reduced by 1 - Can mix two races and have two perks - Gain 1 random Banner of Recognition
Veneration of Life	Priority: ★★・ - Refresg rge Companion Piece Shop for free 3 times └ Can save up to 3 coins - Recommended during early to mid-game

Secret Treasures are rewards you get for defeating the bosses of the acts. THey have very powerful effects that can help you depending in the situation you are in. Load Conversion is the most recommended since you can max your Special Features.

Increase Speculation Level Effects

If you fail to reach the final stage, you can redo the stages again, but this time, increase the Speculation Level to get some buffs. You get Speculative Records to increase the level from playing through the stages.

Can Also Gain Speculative Records From Fruit Supplement Survey

You can get Speculative Records from completing stages of Fruit Supplement Survey. It's recommended to complete Fruit Supplement Survey first to increase Speculation Level before playing through another round of Companion Caper Chronicles.

There Is A Side Story (Stage 4)

Trek Through The Rasping Desert has a side quest called Stage 4. This will immediately start when you clear through the final boss of the stage. This does not give any reward and is merely a test of skill.

Recommended To Have Level 11 Speculative Level Here

If you are aiming to clear the side story, it's recommended that you do so after reaching the max Speculative Level to allow units to reach 4 stars. This will allow you to fight against the 4 star enemies in the game.
