Why Duet Night Abyss Doesn't Have a Gacha System?

Before we talk about rerolling, let's address the elephant in the room. Duet Night Abyss originally had a gacha system during its closed beta. If you're one of the selected few to play during its closed beta, you'd know that you could roll for characters and weapons just like in any other gacha game. However, producer Deca Bear and the team at Pan Studio made the decision to scrap the entire gacha system for characters and weapons.
Now, all characters and weapons are completely free to get by just playing the game.
So, What Can You Actually Pull in Duet Night Abyss?

If there's no character or weapon gacha, then what's left to pull? Cosmetics.
You got that right! Duet Night Abyss went full-on cosmetic-only for its monetization. Here's what you can get in the game right now:
- Character skins and outfits
- Weapon skins
- Headgear
- Iridescent Prism
But before you start pulling for the gacha, first, you should know more about Myriad, Weaves, and the game's pity system:
What is Myriad?

Myriad is what the game calls its gacha system. Instead of pulling for characters or weapons in traditional gacha games, in Duet Night Abyss, you're using the Myriad system to get skins and other accessories.
To access Myriad, press F3 on your PC or hold Alt and choose Myriad on the top right corner of your screen.
What is a Weave?

The game uses "Weaves" as the term for pulls. When you read a banner that guarantees a higher-tier item for, let's say, "10 Weave," it means doing a 10-pull on the Myriad banner.
Each Weave costs either 160 Phoxene Plumules (premium currency) or 1 Hourglass (free-to-play currency).
There are two types of Hourglasses:
Pristine Hourglass: Used exclusively on the permanent banner
Prismatic Hourglass: Used exclusively on limited banners

Duet Night Abyss Drop Rates Explained

The Myriad system has three tiers of cosmetic items, each with vastly different drop rates:
| Tier | Drop Rate | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Golden | 0.3% | Highest rarity cosmetics and premium items |
| Purple | 5.1% | Mid-tier cosmetics |
| Blue | 94.6% | Common cosmetics |
As you can see, getting a Golden-tier item is incredibly rare at only 0.3%. This is why the pity system (guarantees) exists, so that, you'll eventually get something good after a specific number of Weaves.
Pity System Don't Carry Over

Another good reason why rerolling isn't such a good idea in this game is because the pity system for limited Myriad banners doesn't carry over between different limited or event-exclusive banners.
For example, if you reroll and spend all your Hourglasses on the Summer Dreams Aflutter banner, and then a new limited banner comes out next month featuring an outfit for a character you actually like, you'll be starting from zero again.
Duet Night Abyss Isn't Your Standard Gacha Game
Duet Night Abyss is a breath of fresh air in the gacha game space because it removes the pressure to reroll or spend money to stay competitive. Everyone has access to the same characters and weapons, and your progression is entirely based on how much time and effort you put into the game, and not how lucky you are with pulls.
So skip the reroll. Jump into the game, and get into the story.
How to Reroll
You still want to do the reroll? Here are the steps to do it:
| Steps | |
|---|---|
| 1 | Create an account. |
| 2 | Play until the mail is unlocked. (Around 30 mins. of gameplay) |
| 3 | Claim rewards and pull. |
| 4 | Repeat if unsatisfied. |
The million-dollar question here is how long it would take to get a Gold-tier skin if you reroll. The answer: it's going to take a while. With a drop rate of just 0.3%, the odds are low enough to safely say it’ll cost you a lot of time.
