How to Get Characters
The primary way to acquire new characters in Duet Night Abyss is by collecting 30 'Thought' of the desired character. 'Thoughts' can be obtained by using a Secret Letter in the Covert Commission or by purchasing them from the Shop.

Complete Covert Commission
By using a character Secret Letter, you can attempt a specific Covert Commission, which offers six possible rewards across three rarity tiers. Upon completion, three of the six rewards are randomly presented, and you can choose only one to claim, including the character 'Thought'.

Complete Main Story & Events
Certain characters, such as 'Margie', can be unlocked by completing specific quests in the Main Story or Event stages. Keep progressing through these missions and participating in events to obtain 'Thoughts'.
Purchased from Shop
You can also purchase character 'Thoughts' directly from the in-game Shop > Items > Thoughts. Each Thought costs 150 Phoxene Plumule.
