Get from the Paid Bard's Tome (Battle Pass)
The fastest way to get a Geniemon is by unlocking either of the paid Bard's Tomes or Battle Passes. This includes the Hardcover Edition and the Collector's Edition. You're free to choose one from the six available Geniemon in the Bard's Tome lineup.

After completing the "Go, Geniemons!" Covert Commission, Geniemons in the overworld can now be captured by using Yum Treats. This is bundled with a mechanic where you need to time your input so that the cursor lands in the center spot of the bar for a successful capture.
Unlock Covert Commission After Chapter 1
The Covert Commission: "Go, Geniemons!" eventually unlocks after finishing Chapter 1 of the Main Story.
What are Geniemons?
Geniemons come equipped with an extra skill or ability that you can trigger in combat at the expense of a timed cooldown, which is unlike other abilities in the games that rely on Sanity instead.
The Geniemons also have a passive that is always active provided you have it deployed. Geniemons can provide buffs, deal damage or deploy crowd control.
