Underwater Survival on an Alien Ocean World

Subnautica 2's genre is Open-World Underwater Survival Adventure. The game is set on a vast alien ocean planet, ranging from sunlit shallows to abyssal trenches teeming with unknown life and ruins. Built on Unreal Engine 5, the environments deliver dynamic lighting, dense kelp, and glowing deep-sea caves.

Up to 4-Player Online Co-op

For the first time in the series, you can dive together with up to 3 friends (4 players total). Crossplay is supported across PC and Xbox. Of course, you can still play solo - explore at your own pace, build alone, or split roles in a 4-player team.

Redefine "Human" with Biomods

To survive the deep, you may need to alter your own biology. Harvest alien DNA, fuse it into Biomods, and transform your body to withstand pressure, cold, toxins, and predators that no baseline human could face.

A New Submersible: Tadpole

The new flagship submersible Tadpole launches smaller sub-drones from its core - a "matryoshka" docking system that lets you split off to scout tight caves while the mothercraft holds position. Future updates will add a large mothership capable of carrying multiple Tadpoles.

Smarter, Scarier Leviathans

Powered by UE5 Behavior Trees, the giant predators - Leviathans - no longer follow fixed patterns. They react to your movement, the environment, and even other creatures, making every encounter unpredictable.

Early Access Roadmap (10 Chapters)

Early Access launches with Chapters 1-3. The full v1.0 release will deliver all 10 chapters (~10 hours each), plus systems like automated mining and farming that expand long-term base operations.
