How to Restore Health

Oxygen (O2)

Subnautica 2 Oxygen Meter Location

Oxygen is your most important stat while diving. Your base O2 cap starts at 45. The Oxygen meter drains continuously while underwater, and running out of Oxygen causes your vision to fade before eventually leading to drowning and death if you cannot reach safety in time.

Oxygen Cap is Upgradeable

The starting Oxygen cap of 45 is not enough for deeper or longer expeditions, so upgrading it early is highly recommended. You can increase your Oxygen capacity by crafting an Air Tank.
