Subnautica 2 First Devlog
Subnautica 2’s Design Lead thanked players and previewed recent hotfixes plus upcoming additions such as performance boosts, creature behavior updates, expanded Biomods, emotes, proximity voice chat, and a new region with the Collector Leviathan.
The team also confirmed that all new content will be added without requiring players to restart their saves.
Early Access Hotfix 3

The third Early Access Hotfix addresses issues with the DLSS along with a number of different bug fixes. It also included changes to how some creatures behaved and their damage to players.

A Letter to the Community

Following community comments regarding multiple aspects of gameplay, Unknown Worlds released an official letter to the Subnautica 2 community.
They stated they will make improvements especially around creature behavior and player mitigation tools. This includes creatures' aggression timing, aggro range, as well as their interactions with player vehicles and bases, in addition to the effectiveness of the Flare and Survival Tools.
Update Period
The development team announced they will be making updates in the coming weeks and that these changes will be made over a series of patches.
A Letter to the Community (External)Early Access Hotfix 2

This second hotfix adds new resource locations, improves creature behavior, fixes several crashes and gameplay bugs, boosts performance, updates UI elements, and includes revisions to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Early Access Hotfix 1

The developers released the first official hotfix for Subnautica 2 to address several critical launch issues and community-reported startup problems following the Early Access release. This update is currently available on PC platforms and will release on Xbox after platform certification is completed.

Early Access Launch

Subnautica 2 is now officially available in Early Access, allowing players to explore a brand-new alien world filled with dangerous underwater ecosystems, mysterious creatures, and advanced survival technology. Players can tackle the adventure solo or team up with up to three friends through online co-op.

The developers emphasized in their community letter that the non-lethal survival approach only works if predator encounters feel fair and readable. Since current defensive mechanics still feel inconsistent, multiple balance patches are planned over the coming weeks.
Early Access Planned Content

The current roadmap highlights major system improvements planned for the EA 1.1 Quality of Life Update and the multiplayer-focused EA 1.2 Update. Future expansions are also expected to introduce new biomes, additional vehicles, expanded story chapters, and more exploration features.
