What Is Creature Enamel in Subnautica 2?

Creature Enamel is a mid-game resource and the key ingredient for crafting Enameled Glass The Enameled Glass blueprint unlocks automatically the first time you pick up a Creature Enamel. Unlike Conduit Crystal, it can be found in decent quantities once you know where to look for it.
Where to Find Creature Enamel

Creature Enamel is found in the Alien Ruins area, approximately 1,200m to 1,300m east of the Lifepod.
Look for deep gray lumps of rock with long white bone-like spikes sticking out of them. These are Enamel Husks. They somewhat blend into the environment at first, but once you recognize the shape, you will easily spot them on the seafloor, cave walls, and along the outer edges of cave systems.
| Best Farming Spot | About 270 meters southeast of the research outpost. A large cave system there has a solid concentration of Creature Enamel on its walls, alongside Celestine deposits. |

How to Farm Creature Enamel

Creature Enamel cannot be collected by hand. Instead, blast apart Enamel Husk deposits with the Sonic Resonator. Each deposit yields up to 3 creature enamels.
Watch out for Needler Mangos. These territorial sharks shoot javelin-like darts at anything nearby, including your Tadpole. Unlike most creatures, Needlers will keep shooting at your vehicle even when you are out of it. Keep a Repair Tool handy before heading in.
Tips for Farming Creature Enamel

- Use the Scanner Station. It marks Creature Enamel nodes within 300 meters.
- Combine runs with other objectives. The Alien Ruins is far from the Lifepod. Grab as much as you can carry whenever you are already out there.
- Grab Celestine while you are there. The cave system southeast of the outpost has both. You will need Celestine for the Tadpole Depth Module Mk. 1 upgrade.
- Use the Tadpole as a shield from Needlers. The easiest way to break enamel husks without getting harassed is to park your Tadpole directly in front of a deposit. Just keep a Repair Tool handy in case your vehicle takes heavy damage.
