What Is Celestine in Subnautica 2?

Celestine is a blue crystal ore found in large deposits on rock walls and the deep seabed. It is one of the most important resources in the game required for the Modification Station, which is mandatory for story progression, as well as the Tadpole Depth Module Mk. 1 and Strontium, which you'll need to craft several late-game recipes.
| Tip! | You need the Sonic Resonator to harvest Celestine. Each deposit yields 1 to 3 pieces. |

How to Get Celestine

Celestine first appears around 1,000 meters east of the Lifepod in the Observatory biome, at a minimum depth of 200 meters. It becomes more plentiful the further east you go.
You need the Tadpole to reach its deposits as well as the Depth Module Mk. 1 upgrade since many deposits sit below 250 meters. Blast away the deposits using a Sonic Resonator.
Best Tadpole Upgrade ModulesUsing the Scanner Station to Find Celestine

If you have a base in the Karakorum region, build a Scanner Station inside it. Interact with it, select Celestine, and a 3D map will show all deposits within 300 meters of your base. Select any deposit on the map to pin it to your HUD and navigate directly to it.
Best Celestine Farming Spots
1,000m to 1,300m East of the Lifepod

From the Alien Ruins, travel 180 meters northeast in the Tadpole and drop to around 250 meters. Look toward the layered rock wall and you will see a Celestine deposit. Follow this line of deposits since there's always Celestine to be found in them.
| Warning! | This location comes close to the current boundaries of the Early Access. Make sure that you do not stray beyond the limits while carrying your Celestine haul. |

1,500m East of the Lifepod

At 1,500m east of the Lifepod near the Juvenile Angel Comb at the Powerplant location, is where you'll find this rock wall littered with Celestine deposits. You can also find an abundant resource of Creature Enamel from Enamel Husks and occasionally, some Atacamites too.
2,000m East of the Lifepod

The Metal Farms is also a good location to look for Celestine deposits. You can also blast Mineralized Clinkers here for Troilite and get Axum Bacterial Cultures from its yellow ponds.
What Is Celestine Used For?

Processing Celestine into Strontium
At a Processor, combine 2x Celestine to produce 1x Strontium. Processing takes 30 seconds. Strontium is then used in several high-tier recipes.
Celestine Crafting Recipes
| Result | Celestine Required | Station |
|---|---|---|
| Modification Station | Celestine x2 | Fabricator |
| Tadpole Depth Module Mk. 1 | Celestine x3 | Modification Station |
| Strontium | Celestine x2 | Processor |
Strontium is used to craft the Feedback Resonator, Tadpole Haul Chassis, Strike Armor, and Cavitation Muffler. Getting Celestine early makes the rest of the mid-to-late game significantly smoother.
Can You Make Celestine in a Metal Farm?

The answer is yes, and another good thing about it is that it only takes 10 minutes to process in a Metal Farm.
| Notice! | Subnautica 2 is in Early Access. Celestine spawn locations and recipes may change in future updates. |
