What Is Strong Acid?

Essential Material for Vehicles

Subnautica 2 Scout Ray Chassis Needs Strong Acid

Strong Acid is an important mid-game material in Subnautica 2 used to craft the Power Cell required for the Tadpole, Scout Ray Chassis submarine, and several advanced materials. Unlike basic Mild Acid, it cannot be crafted with a standard Fabricator and instead requires a Processor built inside your base.

Before crafting Strong Acid, make sure to select the correct recipe first. Simply choose the recipe and press Load Processor to begin crafting. Depending on the recipe you use, processing will take between 30 to 60 seconds.

Note! The Processor automatically pulls materials from your inventory and nearby storage, so there is no need to insert them manually.

Where to Find Necrolei Cysts

Subnautica 2 Necrolei Cysts on Stilt Orbs

Strong Acid requires Necrolei Cysts as a crafting ingredient. These can only be found growing on top of Stilt Orbs, recognizable by their orb-shaped bodies and bright pink tendrils.

Best Necrolei Cyst Farming Location

Subnautica 2 Cut Necrolei Cysts

The best mid-game farming spot is near the first Angel Comb, a short distance west of the Old Habitat around 400m. Approach the Stilt Orbs and use your Survival Multitool to break and collect the cysts. Several Needlers are in the area, so stay alert for incoming attacks or bring Distraction Flares to make farming safer and more efficient.

How to Unlock the Processor

Subnautica 2 Scan Processor in the Old Habitat

To unlock the Processor blueprint, head roughly 400 meters North/Northwest from the Lifepod to the Old Habitat facility. Drop through the hole in the floor of the main entrance room, then move into the nearby ladder room and scan the Processor unit located in the far-left corner.

The Processor is located near a good Necrolei Cyst farming route, so make sure to collect some along the way to save time and resources.
