What Is the Rebreather in Subnautica 2?

Subnautica 2 Inventory Rebreather

The Rebreather is a diving tool that reduces oxygen consumption at depth. The deeper you dive in Subnautica 2, the faster your oxygen drains. Without the Rebreather, deep-water exploration becomes a constant race back to the surface.

To unlock the crafting blueprint, you only need to scan one Rebreather fragment. Multiple fragments are scattered across the world, so you are not locked to a single location.

Rebreather Fragment Locations

Subnautica 2 Scanning a Rebreather Fragment
Location How to Find It
320m South-Southeast of the Lifepod Swim past the Welcome Center until you reach a rock formation with several pillars. This is also near the Chap Blackbox signal objective. Look for nearby debris and crates. The fragment is lying around in the area.
300m South-Southwest of the Lifepod A hidden Colonist Bunker. Scan the Rebreather fragment inside.
300m North-Northwest of the Lifepod Inside a crashed ship near an Angel Comb Adaptation. You need to craft the Sonic Resonator first to destroy the canker webbing and gain entry.
430m Northeast of the Lifepod Inside a massive wreck. Swim underneath to enter the cargo hold. Bring the Repair Tool to pry open the doorway.

More Rebreather fragments can be found in the world, such as the platform outside the Research Station, and the cavern near the Ruby Blackbox signal. But since you only need to scan one, the four locations above are the most accessible.
