What Is the Deepwing Brooder in Subnautica 2?
The Deepwing Brooder is a passive Leviathan that roams the open ocean across every biome in Subnautica 2. It looks like a large, chunky manta ray and is the only docile Leviathan in the current build. It will not attack you even if you swim directly beside it.

Where to Find the Deepwing Brooder
Deepwing Brooders wander across all biomes in the current build. They usually swim near the surface at around 50 to 100 meters depth and typically appear in groups of three.

The Deepwing Brooder is passive and completely safe to approach. Equip your Scanner and swim up to it to scan.
How to Get Deepwing Egg Clumps
As the Deepwing Brooder swims, it releases a stream of eggs. Not all of them can be collected. You need to identify and grab the right ones.
Look for the Darker Green Eggs
Regular eggs are lighter. Deepwing Egg Clumps are a noticeably deeper green and slightly larger.
Each Egg Field Yields 1 to 3 Deepwing Egg Clumps
A Brooder releases a new egg field roughly every 3 to 4 minutes. Stay with the pod to keep farming.
Use the Scout Ray Chassis
The Tadpole Haul Chassis is too slow to keep pace with a moving Brooder. Use the Scout Ray Chassis instead.
