What Is Digestive Incompatibility in Subnautica 2?

Subnautica 2 Digestive Incompatibility

Digestive Incompatibility is a starting condition that prevents your character from eating any local food. Every fish you catch, cook, or try to eat is completely wasted because you're going to suffer from penalties because your biology is alien to this world.

The only safe food before the fix are Nutrient Blocks, found in supply crates around the starting area. Use them sparingly until the adaptation is unlocked.

Note! In Creative Mode, all Adaptations including Digestion are unlocked from the start. This guide only applies to Survival Mode.

How to Fix Digestive Incompatibility

Subnautica 2 Digestion Adaptation Unlocked

To be able to eat and consume local flora and fauna, you need to interact with the Angel Comb, located approximately 160 meters northeast of the Lifepod at coordinates -330975, 419034, -607. It sits directly above Anita's Blackbox.

Tip! An Angel Comb is a large, glowing plant-fungus structure similar to the pod you interacted with during the prologue, but much bigger, with spiky wing-like protrusions.
Step What to Do
1
Subnautica 2 NoA Menu Anita Quest
Access NOA inside the Lifepod and read the message titled Anita. This logs Anita's Blackbox location on your HUD, pointing you directly to the Angel Comb.
2
Subnautica 2 Digestion Angel Comb
Locate the large glowing Angel Comb above Anita's blackbox. Watch for Hammerheads and Nibbler Mangos patrolling the area.
4
Subnautica 2 Insert Hand Inside Angel Comb
Interact with the central pink bulb to gain the Digestion Adaptation. Your oxygen, health, food, and water are also restored immediately.
Tip! While you are here, scan the broken Habitat Builder on the table near the Angel Comb. You need two Habitat Builder scans total to unlock the blueprint.
