This build is centered around increasing Zhongli's shield strength and providing additional support for the team. With this, you can get around 35k and up HP for Zhongli, basically making his shield very tanky. As an added bonus, his Burst should also do a good chunk of damage.

Focus On Building HP/Shield

Since you want a beefy shield with this build, it's recommended to only use weapons with either an HP sub-stat or has a weapon skill that increases HP/Shield Strength. There are currently no HP sub-stat 5-star weapons so the Staff of Homa is the best 5-star for Zhongli right now.

The Tenacity Of The Millelith not only increases Zhongli's HP, it provides additional buff whenever Zhongli's Skill hits an enemy. You get additional Shield Strength and ATK even if Zhongli is off the field, providing additional support to the team!

Build Triple HP For The Best Shield

With Triple HP in your sub-stats, you're basically making Zhongli's shield as tanky as possible. This also increases Zhongli's Burst since this also scales off his HP.

1	Use Zhongli's Elemental Skill (Hold) to activate the shield
2	Switch back to your DPS character and continue attacking
3	Use Zhongli's Elemental Burst to halt the enemies for a second and then change back to your DPS for finishing
4	Repeat number 1

Uses Of Zhongli's Elemental Skill

Tap To Create A Pillar

By simply tapping Zhongli's Skill, it will create a pillar that will stay on the field. It will release Geo pulses while it's active. If you have other Geo constructs on the field, they will synergize and release Geo pulses along with Zhongli's pillar.

Hold To Creates Shield & Pillar

On the other hand, when you holding down Zhongli's Skill, it will create a shield and place down the Pillar. The shield stays on-field even if you switch out of Zhongli, allowing your Main DPS to be protected. The shield scales off Zhongli's HP.

Inflicts A Physical & Elemental Debuff To Enemies

Those hit with Zhongli's Skill will be afflicted with Physical and Elemental debuff. This basically lowers their defenses against all kinds of attacks!

Zhongli's Elemental Burst

Brings Down A Meteor For Big Damage

Zhongli summons a huge Geo meteor that will hit all enemies within its range. The meteor will inflict Geo damage and scales off Zhongli's HP.

Will Apply Petrify To Enemies

Those hit with Zhongli's meteor will become petrified, essentially turning them into stone for a short duration. You can use different attacks to cause shatter to those affected by it!

Zhongli is one of the best supports currently in the game. Both of his shield and his Burst scales off HP, making his shield extremely tanky while also providing additional DPS for the team. Overall, he's a character that will basically make the game much easier for you since he will negate the need for constant dodging.

Strongest At C4

Due to the increase in effectivity of his Burst, Zhongli becomes his strongest at C4. However, for the sake of utility, you can stay at C2 wherein it will increase the Shield uptime by a significant amount of time.

Why do I never see the wave breakers fin in the recommended weapons for Zhongli? I've seen a dmg comparison with all the regular weapons and the burst was second in dmg only to the staff of homa

Zhongli+Arataki Itto = immortal Hard hitters
Arataki Itto Akaushi skill sets off geo waves with Zhongli's Dominus Lapidis Skill, and Zhongli's Jade Shield makes not only Arataki Itto immortal but his Physical DMG goes up making his ONI burst extremely powerful
