Obtain During an Event in Three Locations

In Monster Hunter Wilds, the Genesis Opal can be obtained by gathering Magnificent Fossils during the 'Magnificent Fossil Emergence' event that occurs in Windward Plains, Oilwell Basin and Ruins of Wyveria. You can check the Environment Overview to see where the event is taking place, then set a Waypoint and head there with Seikret.

Rest at the Camp if It Doesn't Appear

If the 'Magnificent Fossil Emergence' event isn't active, reset the environment by taking a Rest at the camp. However, taking a Rest requires 300 points.

Geologist Does Not Increase Gathering Amount

Genesis Opal is not affected by the Geologist skill's Special Items Gathering bonus (+1). You can only obtain one per event, so make sure to collect it frequently when you see the event notification.

Genesis Opal is one of the Special Items required to obtain the Explorer of the Eastlands medal. Collect 10 types of rarity 6 Special Items from various locations to earn medals and trophies.

Use in Item Trade

Genesis Opal from Monster Hunter Wilds is used in Item Trade with Ren in Sild, the Keepers' Vigil. You can exchange them for special armor materials and rare ingredients.

You Can Trade With Nata After Talking Once

After clearing Chapter 4-1, if you talk to Ren at least once, you can item trade with Ren by talking to Nata at Base Camp. From now on, there is no need to go to the Guardian's Village Sild.

Trade List Changes Over Time

The Item Trade exchange lineup changes over time in the game. You can also change your lineup on the fly if you take a break at camp.
