Auric Oil - How to Get
Gather in Oilwell Basin

Auric Oil in Monster Hunter Wilds can be gathered in Oilwell Basin. It can appear in both High and Low Rank. Additionally, when the environment is set to the Plenty, there will only be one gathering node. It is recommended to collect during the Fallow or Inclemency.

Gathering Nodes may increase when there is an ongoing event. This can be found in the Environment Overview, so check the forecast from time to time.
Accept an Optional Quest in Oilwell Basin
It is recommended to accept an Optional Quest with the Plenty in Oilwell Basin. By accepting the quest, gathering, and returning, you can gather as many times as you like without having to consume 300 Guild Points. Additionally, they appear regardless of High or Low Rank.

Skills such as Geologist increase the number of items obtained by 1 at level 2. On the other hand, the Gatherer Meal randomly increases items obtained by 1. As both skills stack, it is possible to mine multiple items at once. Notably, the Geologist skill can be activated with the Chainmail equipment set, which is available at the start of the game.
Chainmail Armor SetGatherer Meal Skill isn't Required
Gatherer Meal does not always guarantee the number of items gained will increase. Additionally, Truffle Du Conga is a difficult ingredient to obtain, so it is not required to activate this skill.

After clearing Chapter 4-1, once you speak to Yabran at least once, you can trade items with him by talking to Nata at the Base Camp. After that, there will be no need to go to Oilwell Basin anymore.
