Set up a Pop-Up Camp in Area 9 of Ruins of Wyveria ahead of time. Directions to the Pop-Up Camp are in the image above.
Ruins of Wyveria Map GuideAccept an Optional Quest
Both High or Low Rank quests will work, so accept an Optional Quest such as His Eternal Reign or Guardian Fulgar Anjanath Hunt in Ruins of Wyveria. Note that Origin Wylk Gem only appears in Ruins of Wyveria and cannot be obtained in other environments.
Collect Origin Wylk Gem
Follow the route in the image above to access Area 9 of Ruins of Wyveria and gather the Origin Wylk Gem, which can be obtained from Whitegleam Gemstone nodes.
Increase Items Obtained With Geology
To activate Geologist Lv2, equip two pieces of the Chainmail Armor Set. With Geologist Lv2, the number of items gathered increases by one for each gathering point, allowing you to obtain more items for exchange.
Geologist EquipmentReturn From Quest After Collecting
Once you have gathered all Origin Wylk Gem nodes, return from the quest. The gathering nodes will respawn if you accept an Optional Quest again, so return to step 2..
Origin Wylk Gem - How to Get
Obtain from Whitegleam Gemstone
The Monster Hunter Wilds Origin Wylk Gem can be obtained from the Whitegleam Gemstone found in the 'Ruins of Wyveria.' The Whitegleam Gemstone only appears when the environment is either 'Wyvern's Stirring' or 'Wyvern's Wakening,' so it cannot be obtained during 'Wyvern's Tranquility.'

Use for Item Trade with Ren
The Origin Wylk Gem is used for item trade with Ren, who is located at Sild, the Keepers' Vigil in the Ruins of Wyveria. It can be exchanged for items such as Godbug Essence and Vespoid Wings.

Once you clear Chapter 4-1 and speak to Ren at least once, you can trade items with Ren through Nata at Base Camp. After that, there’s no need to visit the Ruins of Wyveria anymore.
