The most efficient way to collect Broken Blade (Rare 8) in Monster Hunter Wilds is to hunt two Tempered Monsters or to use Meld with Melding Tickets. Both have their advantages and disadvantages, so collect Broken Blades using the method that suits you best.

It's Best to Hunt 2 Tempered Monsters

EstimateApproximately 3 to 5 items per quest

Broken Blade (Rare 8) are best gathered by repeatedly completing the two Tempered Monster hunting quests. The specific Tempered monsters include each Apex Monster, Arkveld, and Gore Magala. Be sure to check the reward details before accepting a quest and select the one that provides the most Artian parts.

How to Complete Tempered Monsters Quest

  1. Clear up to Chapter 6-1
  2. Clear side missions with 2 Tempered heads on each map
  3. Take a break to reset and select quests with good rewards
  4. Save it as a quest once the desired result appears
┗ Can be saved as a Field Survey
  5. Complete the Field Survey and repeat the selection process

Solo play takes more time to search for quests compared to multiplayer, but it has the advantage of allowing you to save them as Field Surveys and play them later. However, if multiplayer is available, farming both solo and multiplayer simultaneously is highly efficient.

Clear Chapter 6-1 and 2 Tempered Missions

Clearing Chapter 6-1 will unlock the ability to obtain Rare 8 parts. Additionally, by completing the two-tempered monster side missions on each map, multiple monster Field Surveys will become available on that map, allowing them to be turned into quests.

Take Breaks and Save When Quest Appears

Monster Hunter Wilds Image

Check the Environment Overview on the open-world map to see if there are any Tempered Monsters with high rewards. If there aren't any, take a break at the camp and refresh the monsters. If you find what you're looking for, press the ▢ button → select to turn it into a quest and save it as a Field Survey. Converting it to a quest requires about 100 – 400 guild points.

How to Farm Guild Points
  1. Clear up to Chapter 6-1
  2. Go online and search for a lobby
  3. Search for the quest, and if it's unavailable, switch lobbies
  4. Clear the quest and search for a lobby once you find it

In multiplayer, you can check your target quests across multiple lobbies, making it more efficient than searching solo. Additionally, in multiplayer, you can attempt two-monster hunts even if you haven't completed the required side missions that are needed for solo play.

Clear up to Chapter 6-1

By clearing Chapter 6-1, you will meet the requirements to challenge the two-monster hunting quests that drop Rare 8 parts. Therefore, collecting Rare 8 parts requires clearing Chapter 6-1, whether you're playing solo or multiplayer.

Search the Lobby for Quest

Monster Hunter Wilds Lobby

Talk to Alma, then use the lobby move menu to search for and enter a lobby. Once again, talk to Alma and search for your target quest in the Lobby Members' Quest. If it's not there, perform another lobby search and move to a different lobby.

Sharpness Recovers to Maximum and Sharpening Speed is Fast

In Monster Hunter Wilds, the Whetfish's upper fin allows you to recover your weapon's Sharpness to its maximum. Additionally, it sharpens faster compared to a regular Whetstone, so it's recommended to carry multiple for regular use.

Sharpening Speed is Equivalent to Whetstone Speed Up Lv2

The sharpening speed of Whetfish's upper fin is equivalent to the weapon skill Speed Sharpening Lv2. For those who use Melee Weapon, we recommend using the upper fin instead to free up skill slots.

It May Not Be Consumed When Used

The Whetfish's upper fin may remain in the Pouch without being consumed when used. Although you can only carry up to 5, it effectively works as if you have more than 5.
