What Is Capturing Radiance?
Increases The Chances Of Getting The Featured 5-Star

Capturing Radiance is a new mechanic for the Limited Time Wish Banners that slightly increases the chance of getting the banner's featured 5-star character. It can only be triggered if you've lost the 50/50.
Capturing Radiance - How It Works & Explanation

If you've lost your 50/50, there's a 10% chance of triggering Capturing Radiance which will guarantee that you get the featured 5-star character! Overall, this does increase the guarantee rate of the banner. What was 50/50 before has now become 55/45 if you add all the odds up.
