Ibuki Challenge Tips

Perfect Parry For Stronger Damage

Perfect Parry For Stronger Damage

Defeating the enemy within the time limit is important. It is difficult to win with just Normal & Charged Attacks so you need to utilize Parry to inflict heavy damage.

Use Honed Technique For Parrying Basic Attacks

Use Honed Technique For Parrying Basic Attacks

Perfect Parrying basic attacks do not inflict damage and it is better to use the Honed Technique on this part to hasten your victory.

Hirotatsu Challenge Tips

Use Honed Technique For Parrying Basic Attacks

Similar to Ibuki Challenge, use Honed Technique for parrying basic attacks. Hirotatsu has a long chain of basic attacks which can easily fill the Honed Technique gauge.

Prepare To Parry Twice

Prepare To Parry Twice

Hirotatsu is going to make a series of 2-strike attacks. If the Honed Technique is active during this phase, you can deal a lot of damage for each Perfect Parry.

Younan Challenge Tips

Attack With Normal & Charged Attack

Attack With Normal & Charged Attack

You need to fill Younan's gauge first before he performs a special attack. Perform Normal & Charged Attacks after you parry his basic attacks.

Use Honed Technique After Parrying His Special Attack

Use Honed Technique After Parrying His Special Attack

Perfect Parrying Younan's special attack staggers him for a short while so take this opportunity to use the Honed Technique. If you use the Honed Technique while he is doing a sequence of basic attacks, the stagger will interrupt him and the delay will add more time to the challenge.

Taroumaru Challenge Tips

Parry When The Sword Flashes

Parry When The Sword Sparks

Besides the special attack, Taroumaru's sword also sparks before the basic attacks so observe the sword and prepare to parry when the white spark appears.

How To Parry Slash Combo

Taroumaru has a 3-slash attack combo. The spark is an indicator of when to parry the 1st & 3rd slash. For the 2nd slash, immediately use parry after the 1st slash but you can only do this if you are able to do a perfect parry on the 1st slash as there is no cooldown after a perfect parry.

Akatsuki Saemon Juuzou Challenge Tips

Use Honed Technique When The Sword Is Pyro-Infused

Use Honed Technique When The Sword Is Pyro-Infused

When Akatsuki Saemon Juuzou's sword is infused with Pyro and you used the Honed Technique, there is swirl damage that can deal low damage. The damage may not be significant but it still contributes to winning.

Perform A Normal Attack Then Charged Attack

Perform A Normal Attack Then Charged Attack

You can optimize the buff from Honed Technique by performing 1 Normal Attack followed by 1 Charged Attack. Do this attack pattern in succession for the whole buff duration.

Maguu Kengou Challenge Tips

Can Parry All Attacks

Can Parry All Attacks

All Maguu Kengou's attacks can be parried including the projectiles and phantom attacks.

Parrying Projectiles & Attack Increases Gauge

Parrying Projectiles & Attack Increases Gauge

Performing Normal & Charged Attacks & parrying incoming projectiles fills up the special attack gauge. In addition, perfectly parrying the projectiles deals damage to Maguu Kengou.
