The Fortuitous Invitation is a featured sub-event for the Lantern Rite Festival. Through it, players may earn the chance to get a 4-star character of their choice.

It Is Always Best To Unlock The Characters That You Want To Play

Genshin Impact is a game with fairly low difficulty. You can finish high level contents with their free characters provided that you give them enough investment. It is always best to choose the character you want to play over their strength.

Situation 1: You Plan To Pull For Alhaitham Or Xiao And Has All Of The 4 Star Character

Xingqiu	Rating: ★★★★★ - Xinqiu's Constellation, especially C6, provides a lot of additional damage and Hydro infliction increasing Xingqiu's value.
Xiangling	Rating: ★★★★・ - Xiangling's Sub-DPS grows more powerful with constellation. If you are reaching C4 or C6, it is recommended to choose Xiangling.
Beidou	Rating: ★★★・・ - It's recommended that you get Beidou to at least C2. Beyond that her other cons are not as much of a priority
Yun Jin	Rating: ★★★・・ - If you already have Yun Jin, her constellation are of lower priority. If you are close to C2 or C6, it is however recommended to choose Yun Jin.
Yaoyao	Rating: ★★★・・ - Yaoyao is a new character and she's the only Dendro healer in the game. There is a high chance of obtaining her in Alhaitham and Xiao's Banner. If you are not able to get Yaoyao, however, selecting Yaoyao is recommended.
Ningguang	Rating: ★★★・・ - Ningguang is a good Geo DPS that has a great DMG increase from her constellations. If you need an attacker, choose Ningguang for constellations.
Yanfei	Rating: ★★★・・ - At C4, Yanfei can be a powerful shielder but outside C4 there isn't much notable constellation. Choose Yanfei if you have C3 Yanfei.
Chongyun	Rating: ★★★・・ - Chongyun at C2 is really good for specific comps like National because of decrease in cooldown. However, other Liyue characters has better cons worth investing on.
Xinyan	Rating: ★★・・・ - Xinyan's constellation does not fix her split scaling but her C2 helps with the stability of her shield. Xinyan does not fit in many comps or there are always better option than Xinyan so she is at lower priority.

Xingqiu	Rating: ★★★★★ - Xinqiu, even at C0, provides excellent support and additional damage to the team. He can also gives additional defenses and healing.
Yanfei	Rating: ★★★★・ - Yanfei is an excellent DPS for beginners even at C0 since she has access to powerful reactions like Vaporize and melt.
Yaoyao	Rating: ★★★★・ - Yaoyao is a new character and she's the only Dendro healer in the game. This gives her very high value since she can perform 2 roles at once. - If you are not able to get Yaoyao at Xiao and Alhaitham's Banner selecting Yaoyao is recommended.
Chongyun	Rating: ★★★・・ - If you have Xiangling and Xingqiu, choosing Chongyun is recommended since they form an amazing team that works amazing at Spiral Abyss and is viable even at end-game. This works even at C0.
Yun Jin	Rating: ★★★・・ - Yun Jin is a good character to have when you use character that deals Normal ATK as main source of damage like Childe. She works at many teams of various element not just Geo.
Ningguang	Rating: ★★★・・ - Ningguang is a good Geo DPS but at 0 constellations, her lack of AoE and reactions makes it difficult to compete with other DPS like Yanfei.
Beidou	Rating: ★★・・・ - Beidou at C0 is pretty clunky to use and requires a lot of energy. She is easily substituted by other 4 star characters like Fischl.
Xinyan	Rating: ★★・・・ - Xinyan's constellation does not fix her split scaling but her C2 helps with the stability of her shield. Xinyan does not fit in many comps or there are always better option than Xinyan so she is at lower priority.
Xiangling	Rating: ★★・・・ - You can obtain Xiangling at Spiral Abyss but her constellation is still valuable asset especially at later contents of the game.　 - It is better to prioritize a new character, however.
