The guide on the second puzzle was a bit confusing. 4th and 8th comment saved me. It's actually a very simple puzzle.

ok, to fill a bit of what's lacking, after talking to date the first time, check the quest navigation to lead you the next puzzle, and assuming you're still in evernight, you'll see the blue wall in that puzzle, just arrange the movable wall to make it an X with the blue wall, thanks 4th comment

Why, does this guide does not show where to go after dante's dialogue.

The guide is wrong, you should make an X with the walls, switch to evernight you'll see 2 walls already been there, try to make other three to form an X with those 2 walls, no sorry for bad grammar :))

It should be right. I tried left first 5 times and it doesn't work.

It didn't work for me at first, and I tried three different guides. Logged out and back in again and it worked, so I think it's just bugged.

Has this actually worked for anyone?

I've done it twice, from both sides ("left" as in facing the chest as well as "left" as in facing the maze and away from the chest) to no avail. I even tried lifting the gates again after, just to see. Nada.
