Bakunawa - Location
Can Be Fought in a Special Domain
In "The Last Survivor of Tenochtzitoc" quest, Bakunawa can be fought in the quest domain. It includes a special mechanic of using a Wayob's power to help you defeat it. Click on the button below to read more about the quest!
Cannot Be Fought Again
Once the quest is done, Bakunawa cannot be fought again as it is a quest-limited boss. However, it is likely to appear again in the near future as hinted by the quest's story. In version 5.8, there is no significant drop from this boss confirmed.
How to Defeat Bakunawa
Healers and Shielders are Recommended
Due to the special mechanics of this boss fight, you will need Sustain Supports if you miss the timing for the QTE prompts. The boss' Attacks deal around 16k damage upwards and can likely down a character in one hit with its Special Attacks.
Utilize the Quest-Limited Skill
▲ When Bakunawa is going for an attack, immediately use the Skill.
Travelers will have access to a quest-limited Skill that summons a Wayob to create a shield to negate Bakunawa's attacks. It can also be used for attacking but this Offensive Skill can only be activated once the QTE for its defensive Skill is successfully used.
Counterattack with the Offensive Skill
After successfully negating Bakunawa's attack, enter the void portal then use the Offensive Skill to launch a counterattack. After doing it twice, a new Offensive Skill will be available.

Tap the Quest-Limited Skill to replace your Elemental Skill to begin using the new Offensive Skill. Aim at Bakunawa while holding the Skill. The attack will release on its own once fully charged.
Defeat Bakunawa with another Counterattack
Once Bakunawa is stunned again, use the original Offensive Skill to fully deplete the boss' HP. The boss has no drops but the quest storyline will continue and you will still receive rewards for clearing the quest. To read the full walkthrough for the quest, click on the button below!
