The Secret Source Automaton: Overseer Device can be found in an island to the west of a Secret Source Idol puzzle. You will have to swim to the island to unlock the Waypoint on it.
Swim Towards The Island To Unlock The Waypoint
With the help of the Boss Tracker function, teleport to the nearest Waypoint next to the marker. Then head to the marked shore and indwell a Koholasaur or use Mualani to swim towards the island. Unlock the Waypoint to easily teleport to and from the area.

Bring Cryo Characters With Rapid Attacks
When enough damage has been dealt, the boss will start its laser move that deals big damage and continuously sweeps the field with it. Immediately use Cryo attacks rapidly to lower its Flow Momentum until it stops moving. It will be hard to lower the Flow Momentum if once it starts accumulating them.
