Gorou Works Best As Support for Geo DEF-Scaling Damage Dealers

Gorou's kit can buff both DEF and Geo DMG Bonus, but he works better with Geo damage dealers that scale on DEF. While Zibai is a powerful new DPS, she doesn't benefit from Gorou's Geo DMG buff. However, Gorou is much easier to slot into teams now that newly released supports allow for better flexibility in team comps that need 3 Geo characters.

Gorou is best used in a Mono Geo team where he can support two damage dealers, the on-field DPS and the Sub-DPS. In a no-reaction team like Mono Geo, having more damage dealt via two DPS is better than one.

Lunar-Crystallize does more damage than Gorou's Mono Geo team but it doesn't fully maximize his buffs. Since his Geo DMG buff isn't used for Lunar-Crystallize DMG, it can only buff Zibai's Normal Attacks that don't deal Lunar-Crystallize. But his DEF buffs help Zibai a lot.

With the addition of more non-Geo supports, a Geo DPS team with at least one non-Geo member is now viable. The Hexerei support duo of Albedo and Durin can be used for RES shred and a small DMG buff for Itto. Albedo can be built as a damage dealer instead since Itto can't access Albedo's full DMG buff and Albedo also scales on DEF for his damage.

The F2P Mono Geo team uses older characters to buff Noelle's damage. While Noelle works great as a Lunar-Crystallize driver, that team has a higher artifact requirement for Illuga and Aino, whereas only Yun Jin requires more investment in a Mono Geo team.
