How To Unlock Underwater Exploration
Interact With Any Statue Of The Seven In Fontaine
Players will be able to unlock diving and underwater exploration by interacting with any of Fontaine's Statues of the Seven for the first time. Paimon will even talk about this when you first do so.

Dive In The Waters Of Fontaine
Fontaine's deep waters can be explored by players by simply diving into it. Note that not all bodies will allow for diving. You must also dive in locations that are not shallow.
Does Not Require Resurfacing
Although you are underwater, your characters do not require resurfacing for air. You can stay underwater for as long as you like without any consequences!
Underwater Stamina Is Used When Swimming Fast
Similar to how sprinting is on ground, swimming fast uses up your Stamina. However, losing all of your stamina will simply tire out your character. This will not result in your character or anything else.
Leap To The Air From Underwater
Your character will also ha e the ability to leap from underwater to high in the air in Fontaine! Make use of this when you need to get on land that's higher than the water's surface level.
Underwater Combat - How To Fight
Absorb Abilities From Xenochromatic Creatures
Fighting underwater is very different since your characters cannot use any of their abilities, including normal attacks and even their Skills & Bursts. To fight underwater, players must absorb the abilities of specfici underwater creatures to make use of them.
How To Absorb Abilities
In order to absord their abilities, players must approach a creature and use their Transoceanic Sourcewater. This whip lick attack will absorb the ability of a Xenochromatic creature.
Different Xenochromatic Creatures Give Different Abilities
Xenochromatic creatures will provide your characters with specific abilities. For example, one them will give you the ability to have shields, while another will allow you to unleash Hydro blades!
Types Of Underwater Creatures

| Xenochromatic Armored Crab |  Create an Armored Shield and unleash shockwaves. If debris is blocking your path, you can try to use this power to clear the obstacles.If you are attacked while using the shield, it will unleash an even stronger energy bolt |
| Xenochromatic Hunter's Ray |  After obtaining its power, you can unleash sharp Water Blades to cut the weak sections of the Seagrass. |
| Xenochromatic Blubberbeast |  Its power is to release pulsing sonar waves that have detection-based capabilities.Upon contact with certain objects, these sonar waves can resonate with them and indicate their location. In addition, it seems that they can also detect invisible objects underwater. |
| Xenochromatic Jellyfish |  A new upcoming xenochromatic creature with a unique ability as well. |

| High-Pressure Water Vent | Avoid these high-pressure currents if you have an armored crab shield |
| Recovery Orb | This orb regenerates your aquatic stamina and HP |
| Echoing Conch | This echoing conches will help you detect invisible objects nearby. |
| Fantastical Floating Ball | The ringed device will be activated once the floating ball came in contact with the sphere. |
| Xenochromatic Creatures | Absorb their abilities in order to use for combat and solving puzzles. |
| Bullet Barnacle | Bullet Barnacle can shoot a homing projectile to you when exploring underwater. |
