Elemental Shred lowers the resistance of enemies to specific elements to increase incoming damage from those elements. Both Xilonen and Kazuha can do this, but through different means.

How Xilonen & Kazuha Applies Elemental Shred

- Can easily apply Elemental Buff through the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City artifact set
KazuhaKazuha- Kazuha provide Elemental Buffs through his passive that gives all party members Elemental DMG Bonus depending on his EM. This can be done from either his Elemental Skill, Burst or both at the same time.

Both Can Apply Elemental Shred For Multiple Elements

Both Xilonen and Kazuha are capable of applying Elemental Shred across multiple Elements. While Xilonen does it with her Source Stones, Kazuha does it by applying element-infused Swirl and using the artifact Viridescent Venerer.

How Xilonen & Kazuha Apply Multiple Elemental Shred & Buffs?

CharacterDescription
XilonenXilonen- Xilonen's Source Stones can have up to three different elements. For example, if she is on a team with three other different elements, when she activates her Source Stones, she will apply Elemental Shred for all three elements.
- With the artifact, Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, she is also able to give Elemental DMG Bonus to the team.
KazuhaKazuha- Kazuha can shred the resistance of the enemies using the Artifact Viridescent Venerer.
- He is able to give the team Elemental DMG Buff based on the Elemental Buff through Swirl. The element that he Swirls will gain both the buff. Since Kazuha can double Swirl with his Burst and Skill, he can apply the shred and buff to up to two elements

Xilonen & Kazuha Strengths & Weaknesses

Xilonen

Xilonen
Strength
- Can shred Geo along with the other Elements Kazuha can
- Can apply Elemental Shred for up to three Elements
- Can provide healing
- Longer up time for Elemental Shred, making her rotation much easier
- Easier to apply Elemental Shred
Weakness
- Will require being on-field longer to gain Nightsoul Blessing points
- The buff she provides is very team-reliant.

Kazuha

Kazuha
Strength
- Crown control through his fast cooldown Skill
- Slightly higher damage potential through Passive + VV
- Great with elemental reaction teams especially those that needs application of
Weakness
- Shred is a bit unpredictable since it's dependent on which element he swirls.
- Shred and buff requires constant reapplication because of its low uptime
- Cannot work for Geo teams

C2 Kazuha Vs C2 Xilonen

C2 Kazuha is better at reaction teams due to increase EM that will also increase the reaction DMG and DMG Buff given by Kazuha, but Xilonen at C2 is better at direct buffing characters individually. Both are great Constellations for them, but with different uses.

Xilonen Vs Kazuha - Who To Use?

For Comfort, Xilonen Is The Better Support

Xilonen's a better support because of her ease of use when applying her shred. Since her uptime is 18 seconds and can be done passively, it makes rotations less constrained. She can also apply shred for multiple elements at a time in a snap.

Kazuha Is Better At Contents That Needs Crowd Control

Kazuha's Elemental Skill's crowd control is among the best in the game and can easily help clear waves of enemies at a time. It's a quality of life that can't be replaced by Xilonen.

Having Both Provides A Buffer For Both Abyss Teams

Having both Xilonen and Kazuha will allow you to have buffers for both your teams in the Abyss. This does make it easier to build teams since you can spread both across them. This is similar to Yelan and Xingqiu's circumstances.

Both Can Used In The Same Team

On the other hand, both Xilonen and Kazuha can be used in a single team since both of their shreds and buffs do stack. This is great for hypercarry teams like Neuvillette!
