Varka should see a noticeable jump in performance when paired with the Nicole-Durin pairing and Prune, who seems to be Varka's tailor-made 4-star Support in the way Illuga is for Zibai.

Additionally, Nicole should allow for very comfortable Varka combos since he's a Normal and Charged Attack-based On-Field DPS that would appreciate the mobility and resistance to interruption that her shield would provide.

Anemo DPS Support Nicole Team (Varka)

Note: Since Varka is a Normal and Charged Attack-based DPS, his personal combo could be optimized after Nicole's official release, after further testing!

Varka	Wanderer Xiao Chasca Venti (DPS)	- Varka should be on the higher end in terms of performance amongst the Anemo DPSes, but he can easily be replaced by the others since all of them can slot in Nicole and Durin with ease. - Wanderer should be up there as well in terms of DPS potential upgrade, especially since Nicole's shield would make his combos much smoother and more comfortable to play.
Prune	Venti Ifa Lan Yan Sucrose Faruzan	- Prune is Varka's intended best-in-slot support, especially since she can be deployed in all of Varka's possible comps, not just the Pyro team. - Venti should still be a decent alternative for Prune, but other Viridescent Venerer holders are also a choice, though the damage potential will be worse. - For the other Anemo DPSes, Faruzan should take Prune's slot on the team since their damage is primarily Anemo DMG, which Faruzan substantially buffs.
Durin	Thoma Mavuika Xiangling	- Durin is one of the few Off-Field Sub-DPSes that takes full advantage of everything that Nicole brings since he's both an ATK-scaler and a Hexerei character. - He's a little more replaceable alongside an Anemo DPS, however, since he'll be in his Confirmation of Purity mode for the Anemo RES Shred and therefore might not be contributing that much. - He is still the best-in-slot option alongside Nicole, but you might get serviceable results out of any other Pyro Sub-DPS.

Lohen is another great benefactor of the Nicole-Durin pairing since he's supposed to be Durin's designated On-Field Cryo Driver for his Denial of Darkness mode, which increases Durin's personal Melt and Vaporize reaction DMG, instead of shredding enemy RES.

Lohen is also a Normal and Charged Attack-based DPS, which means he benefits from not having to worry about his combo getting interrupted. DPSes of this type, like Varka, have their damage potential dependent on full combo execution, and it's not surprising that both appreciate what Nicole (and Durin) bring to the table.

Melt Team with Durin Rotation

Note: Since Lohen is a Normal and Charged Attack-based character, he will likely have an optimal attack combo, so the rotation here is still subject to change!

Citlali	Rosaria Shenhe Xilonen Sucrose	- Citlali is the best fourth slot option for Lohen's Melt team with Durin mostly due to her Cryo and Pyro RES shred. Compounding supports that can buff both Lohen and Durin, which includes Nicole, should be the rule of thumb for this comp. - Your choices for a Citlali replacement can be another Cryo character with Off-Field application and/or usable buffs. Maintaining Cryo Resonance for the CRIT Rate increase can go a long way. - Flexible RES shredders like Xilonen and Sucrose (with Viridescent Venerer) are also usable.
Lohen	Wriothesley Ganyu	- Since Lohen is intended to be the best option for Melt Durin, other alternatives are very likely to produce worse results damage-wise. - Wriothesley and Ganyu are the more usable replacements since they might be able to apply enough Cryo to allow for Durin to trigger Melts, though it'd be better to have your fourth slot be another Cryo applier like Citlali to ensure that he does.
Durin	Xiangling	- Durin is the most important member on the Melt Lohen team since it's his Denial of Darkness mode triggering the Melt reactions, and Lohen wants Sub-DPSes who can deal damage to generate Will to Win stacks. - You can make do with Xiangling as the replacement, but apart from the DPS being lower, her Energy Requirements are often very annoying to handle in actual combat. This can lead to too much time spent trying to gain Energy particles for Xiangling.

Kinich-Emilie Burning Team

While Durin's personal damage in his Confirmation of Purity state is lower to compensate for the RES shred, this Kinich and Emilie comp is one of the few teams where both damage sources on the team scale with ATK%, which is one of Nicole's ideal team scenarios. Notably, this'll allow Emilie to be a better teammate in Kinich's teams since her damage potential as a Sub-DPS should receive a decent boost.

Additionally, Kinich's gameplay and harder combos should be easier to execute thanks to Nicole's shield providing sustain and resistance to interruption.

Kinich-Emilie Burning Team Rotation

Emilie	Iansan Nahida	- Other Dendro options do not interact with the reaction as much and instead serve as Dendro appliers for Kinich. They would also be equipped with Deepwood Memories instead. - Alternatively, you could also consider Iansan as well. This will shift the DPS focus solely on Kinich, who can get some use out of her ATK buff and her ability to trigger the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City set. └ Note that due to the Burning aura and how the Scroll set works, the effect will not have permanent uptime. You need to use Kinich's Burst at the start of the rotation for Iansan to proc it properly.
Durin	Xiangling Mavuika Dehya Thoma	- This Burning team should have more flexibility when it comes to replacing Durin, since at the end of the day, Kinich and Emilie only need Pyro application to sustain the Burning reaction on enemies. - Nicole's buffs would see better use on Pyro characters like Xiangling and Mavuika, who scale with ATK and can contribute their own personal DPS, but simple Pyro appliers like Dehya and Thoma are still viable if they're the only ones available.

Replacing Durin on this team will cause Nicole to lose access to her Hexerei: Secret Rite or Witch's Eve Rite passive and her Hexerei status along with it. This means any weapon or artifact that specifically states that it requires the Hexerei: Secret Rite effect to be active for its passive to trigger will not work.

No Durin Team

This comp is one team variation where Nicole's buffs and shield will still greatly benefit the On-Field DPS, since Klee still really likes a shield even after the buff she receives from her Witch's Homework quest. She is also an ATK-scaler together with Fischl, who would both appreciate the teamwide ATK% buff, especially in an Overload team with Chevreuse.

No Durin Team (Klee Overload) Rotation

Klee	Yoimiya Arlecchino Mavuika	- A Pyro DPS that doesn't have strict kit requirements can work in an Overload team with Chevreuse. - Pyro DPSes can activate Fischl's 'Be Gone Thy Sinful Hex' passive that provide extra DPS, which is why they are preferred in an Overload setup when you don't have Durin, since you can use Fischl to compensate.
Fischl	Mona Ororon Beidou Ineffa	- Losing Fischl means you disable Nicole's Hexerei status. If you don't have Fischl or need her in a different team, you can instead pivot the comp towards Vaporize with Mona instead, provided you finished Mona's Witch's Homework quest to activate her Hexerei: Secret Rite passive. - You can still replace Fischl with other Electro Sub-DPSes. However, you will lose out on any artifact or weapon that needs the Hexerei: Secret Rite effect active.
Chevreuse	Prune Xingqiu Yelan	- Chevreuse is considered an important part of an Overload team due to her Electro and Pyro RES shred and her C6 providing similar DMG% bonus. - Replacing her while not having Durin would significantly hurt the damage potential of this team, so you're better off going for a Vaporize team instead with Mona as your Hexerei character. - You can also replace her with Prune instead, which lowers the damage potential but Klee can still activate Prune's Hexerei passive.

Without Klee and Durin, Nicole loses access to her Hexerei: Secret Rite or Witch's Eve Rite passive and is no longer considered a Hexerei character. Any weapon or artifact that specifically states that it requires the Hexerei: Secret Rite effect to be active for its passive to trigger will not work.
