Vesna Prefers Stellar Swirl Teams

Vesna is an Anemo character who specializes in Stellar Swirl. She is supposed to primarily play as the On-Field DPS in her best teams, focusing on dealing consistent direct Stellar Swirl DMG through her Spiral Blade attacks while in her enhanced Skill State.

Stellar Glimmer Reactions

The official umbrella term for both Stellar reactions is Stellar Glimmer.

Stellar-Conduct builds on Superconduct as the base reaction, requiring Electro and Cryo application, but flips its mechanics so that rather than dealing damage, Stellar-Conduct deploys a special area called the Polestar Field that gives Cryo and Electro DMG% to the party while simultaneously lowering the Physical RES of the enemies inside the field.

Stellar Swirl, on the other hand, is converted from Cryo Swirl. Rather than a Polestar Field, this reaction creates a Stellar Vortex that deals damage after exploding and at intervals. The damage and range of the vortex increases the more Stellar Swirls are triggered.

Remaining within the bounds of this Polestar field enables the Radiance: Stellar-Conduct state, while triggering a single Stellar Swirl already applies the Radiance: Stellar Swirl state. The state is active for the entire party, and depending on their abilities, this state grants each character specific buffs or advantages.

This premium Stellar Swirl team is built around giving Vesna the support she needs to maintain her damage throughout her On-Field rotation. Odette and Cryo Traveler supply consistent Off-Field Cryo application needed for Vesna to consistently trigger Stellar Swirl, while Vodyanitsa provides healing and additional support that helps Vesna stay on the field and complete her rotation.

This makes the team a well-rounded, comfortable setup for Vesna, giving her consistent access to Stellar Swirl while also providing the sustain needed to keep her active throughout combat.

But there should still be some flexibility regarding the last slot in the comp. - A secondary Anemo teammate can equip Viridescent Venerer to supply the same RES Shred effect, and the ideal choices are either strict buffers like Faruzan (especially at C6), Sucrose, and, to an extent Lynette, but you might also opt for a sustain character like Lan Yan. - A third Cryo teammate that provides meaningful synergistic buffs for Vesna can also be considered, but if Vesna's Elemental Burst is important to her DPS rotation, then she would prefer an Anemo partner instead to help her Energy requirements.
Cryo Traveler	Qiqi Diona	- Cryo Traveler is an accessible Cryo applicator that has a bit of buffing capability via their Constellation 2 (C2) that gives the active character additional Elemental Mastery. - Cryo Traveler's C5 grants a Stellar Glimmer DMG% buff, increases their value, but because this Constellation is still unobtainable, the Cryo Traveler contributes much less in terms of utility and is more focused on personal damage. - If you would rather use your Traveler as a Stellar-Conduct DPS, you can substitute them with either Qiqi or Diona, who fulfill the same function of Cryo application with a modest, usable buff. - Neither Diona nor Qiqi have a Stellar Jubilee passive, so expect the minimum damage potential of the team to be noticeably lower.
Odette	Qiqi Diona Cryo Traveler	- Odette satisfies the exact same roll as Cryo Traveler on the team, both providing Cryo application, personal DMG, and an appropriate buff for Vesna. - She is slightly less replaceable than the other teammates since her Stellar Glimmer DMG% buff at max Marvelous Splendor stacks is a bit higher than the alternatives. - Her personal damage should also be a key component to reaching high average total team DPS, so while she isn't strictly necessary, it's likely that Vesna's best (and maybe even meta-competitive) performance includes being played with Odette. - Alternatives would ideally be the Cryo Supports that have explicit Stellar Glimmer synergy, but you can make do with ordinary Cryo applicators if you have no other option.

Pair Vesna With Cryo and Anemo Teammates

The general template for a serviceable Vesna Stellar Swirl team would consist of at least two Cryo characters to contribute both Cryo application and Cryo Resonance for a modest (but slightly inconsistent) CRIT Rate boost. A secondary Anemo character is preferred because it'll give Vesna the needed additional Energy particles so she can use her Burst every rotation, should this be her best combo.

Those with appropriate ATK%, Elemental Mastery, and Stellar Glimmer DMG% buffs would typically be the best candidates.

Diona	Cryo Traveler Qiqi Layla	- Diona provides additional Cryo application after you've done her Witch's Revelation quest, and a modest Elemental Mastery buff with her C6. - But you can easily replace her with stronger Cryo teammates, such as Cryo Traveler who has better personal damage or Qiqi who has a higher Stellar Glimmer DMG% buff. - Any other Cryo unit can be deployed if you don't have much else, just to gain access to Cryo Resonance.
Cryo Traveler	Odette Qiqi Diona	- Cryo Traveler fills the same spot as Odette would in Vesna's premium team, a Sub-DPS with the Heart of the Furnace set equipped. - Of course, you can readily replace them with Odette if she isn't occupied in other teams, or other serviceable Cryo supports with minimum base synegy with Vesna and Stellar Glimmer DPSes in general.

Vesna Can Drive Other Reactions

While sub-optimal, Vesna can fulfill the same function as other Anemo On-Field Drivers in the likes of Ifa who focus more on using their infused attacks to constantly trigger specific reactions. It may not be impressive in terms of damage, but it can be a way for you to use Vesna as you aim to level or obtain the teammates necessary to build a functional Stellar Swirl team for her.

The setup above isn't extremely strict, you can deploy her in a Melt team, a Multi-reaction team, or even a Hyperbloom comp if you really want to.

Anemo On-Field Driver Vesna Team

Sucrose	Faruzan Lan Yan Xilonen Nicole Lauma	- Sucrose is the better fourth slot in a team like this where the aim is to have most of the team contribute to the total team DPS, rather than it being the sole responsibility of the On-Field character (Vesna). - Sucrose has a teamwide EM buff that benefits Ineffa, Columbina, and Vesna's personal DPS. - Other Anemo supports that can offer other buffs or sustain can be a serviceable but weaker alternative, while generic RES Shredders like Xilonen can also be considered if you have no other option. - Optionally, you can slot in a buffer like Nicole whose teamwide ATK% increase will benefit more than one DPS source. - Adding a Dendro Off-Fielder can add an additional fun-factor to the team by allowing a few Hyperblooms to happen, though the damage increase isn't extremely impactful than just strictly buffing Vesna Columbina and Ineffa.
Columbina	Aino Yelan	- Columbina's notorious pairing with Ineffa allows you to run them with any non-restrictive On-Field DPS, which includes Vesna. - Without her, Ineffa's damage may not be as strong of a crutch for a non-Stellar Swirl Vesna, so it's best to try pairing them as much as possible if you want the team to be playable into semi-difficult content. - If Columbina really isn't available, any other Hydro applicator can suffice, if not to the detriment of the damage output.
Ineffa	Fischl	- Ineffa has even less replaceability in a team with Columbina, since her personal damage is noticeably higher than Columbina's at base investment. - Your best substitute is Fischl, whose rapid Electro application can help trigger Lunar-Charged faster to proc Columbina's Gravity Interference attacks more often in one rotation. - Expect the DPS potential to be on the much lower end in this instance.
