Best Teams for Vodyanitsa
Vodyanitsa Can Be Flexed Into Stellar Swirl and Freeze
| Team | Rating Description |
|---|---|
| ▼Premium Stellar Swirl Team | ★★★★★ - Vodyanitsa was clearly made to have base minimum synergy with Vesna in a Stellar Swirl comp despite being Hydro. - Her Elemental RES Shred is something almost every team wants to increase the team's base DPS, but her healing, interruption resistance and Stellar Swirl DMG% buff all work to make her a valuable addition to Vesna's ideal team. |
| ▼Freeze Team | ★★★★☆ - Vodyanitsa can also be played in a Freeze team, notably in Skirk's premium Freeze team for example, where her Cryo and Hydro RES shred and DMG% increase can find decent usage, especially if you don't have Escoffier. |
Vodyanista is a Hydro character that has can support teams centered around Stellar Swirl and Freeze thanks to her Cryo, Hydro and Anemo RES Shred. She will primarily be deployed as an Off-Field support in these comps, supplying both sustain and buffing utility through her abilities and equipment.

Team Composition & Equipment
| Character | Weapon Artifacts & Stats |
|---|---|
![]() Vodyanitsa | Hymn of the Maelstrom Tenacity of the Millelith x4Main Energy Recharge / HP% / Healing Bonus or HP% Sub 1. Energy Recharge 2. HP% |
![]() Vesna | Beyond the Chrysalis Scarlet Proof x4Main ATK% / ATK% / CRIT Rate or DMG Sub 1. CRIT Rate or DMG 2. ATK% 3. Energy Recharge or Elemental Mastery |
![]() Odette | Whitelake Frostfeather Heart of the Furnace x4Main ATK% / ATK% / CRIT Rate or DMG Sub 1. CRIT Rate or DMG 2. ATK% 3. Energy Recharge or Elemental Mastery |

| Note! | Stellar Swirl follows the same reaction formula as Lunar Reactions. This means that regular elemental DMG% Goblets do not buff Stellar Swirl like other reactions, which is why Stellar Swirl damage-dealers want to have ATK% Goblets instead. |

This Stellar Swirl team variant has Vodyanitsa act as Vesna's primary source of sustain, who not only gives healing and interruption resistance, but will also shred Cryo, Hydro and Anemo RES as well as increase Stellar Swirl DMG. Odette and Cryo Traveler then round out the team by supplying consistent Off-Field Cryo application, allowing Vesna to reliably trigger Stellar Swirl.
Overall, Vodyanista allows Vesna a comfortable setup with consistent Stellar Swirl access and the sustain needed to keep Vesna alive throughout combat.
Premium Stellar Swirl Team Rotation
Note: Since Vesna can use her Normal and Charged Attacks to charge her special Skill, she is likely to gain an optimal combo after her release.
| No. | Procedure |
|---|---|
| 1 | Start the rotation by using Odette's Elemental Skill twice. |
| 2 | Switch to Cryo Traveler. Deploy their Skill, followed by a Charged Attack (x1) into their Elemental Burst. |
| 3 | Swap to Vodyanitsa. Use her Skill. |
| 4 | Switch to Vesna. Use her Skill to activate her enhanced State, then re-activate it as the special Elemental Skill. Use Normal and Charged Attacks to recharge her special Skill. Keep using her special Skill whenever it comes. End the combo with her Burst and another special Skill use if available. |
| 5 | Repeat from Step 1. |
Substitute Characters
| Character | Sub | Details |
|---|---|---|
Vesna | Mizuki Varka Wanderer Ifa Lynette | - Vesna is intended to be the premiere Stellar Swirl On-Field DPS and has baseline minimum synergy with Vodyanitsa, but the most effective substitute will be Mizuki whose Witch's Revelation buffs gave her the ability to also deal direct Stellar Swirl DMG. - Optionally you can consider a generic Anemo On-Field DPS with consistent Anemo application like Ifa, Wanderer and C6 Lynette. - Varka's Dawn Wind's March passive will have you run 2 Anemo and 2 Cryo to gain the full DMG% effect, which easily satisfies the conditions needed to make a Stellar Swirl team so long as you have a Stellar Glimmer enabler like Odette or Cryo Traveler. |
Cryo Traveler | Qiqi Diona | - Cryo Traveler is an accessible Cryo applicator that has a bit of buffing capability via their Constellation 2 (C2) that gives the active character additional Elemental Mastery. - Cryo Traveler's C5 grants a Stellar Glimmer DMG% buff, increases their value, but because this Constellation is still unobtainable, the Cryo Traveler contributes much less in terms of utility and is more focused on personal damage. - If you would rather use your Traveler as a Stellar-Conduct DPS, you can substitute them with either Qiqi or Diona, who fulfill the same function of Cryo application with a modest, usable buff. - Neither Diona nor Qiqi have a Stellar Jubilee passive, so expect the minimum damage potential of the team to be noticeably lower. |
Odette | Qiqi Diona Cryo Traveler | - Odette satisfies the exact same roll as Cryo Traveler on the team, both providing Cryo application, personal DMG, and an appropriate buff for Vesna. - She is slightly less replaceable than the other teammates since her Stellar Glimmer DMG% buff at max Marvelous Splendor stacks is a bit higher than the alternatives. - Her personal damage should also be a key component to reaching high average total team DPS, so while she isn't strictly necessary, it's likely that Vesna's best (and maybe even meta-competitive) performance includes being played with Odette. - Alternatives would ideally be the Cryo Supports that have explicit Stellar Glimmer synergy, but you can make do with ordinary Cryo applicators if you have no other option. |
Freeze Team

Team Composition & Equipment
| Character | Weapon Artifacts & Stats |
|---|---|
![]() Vodyanitsa | Hymn of the Maelstrom Tenacity of the Millelith x4Main Energy Recharge / HP% / Healing Bonus or HP% Sub 1. Energy Recharge 2. HP% |
![]() Skirk | Azurelight Finale of the Deep Galleries x4└ Equip Marechaussee Hunter if you don't have a CRIT weapon for Skirk, but do own Furina. Main ATK% / Cryo DMG Bonus / CRIT Rate or DMG Sub 1. CRIT Rate or DMG 2. ATK% |
![]() Furina | Splendor of Tranquil Waters└ If you're having trouble charging Furina's Burst every rotation, you can try equipping Fleuve Cendre Ferryman, Favonius Sword, or Festering Desire. Golden Troupe x4└ This is a personal damage option. Equip Tenacity of the Millelith if you want to buff Skirk more. Main Energy Recharge / HP% or Hydro DMG Bonus / CRIT Rate or DMG Sub 1. Energy Recharge 2. CRIT Rate or DMG 3. HP% |
![]() Escoffier | Symphonist of Scents└ Equip Favonius Lance if the team seems to be lacking Energy. Golden Troupe x4└ This is a personal damage option. Equip other buffing sets, like the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City set, if you want to buff Skirk more. Main Energy Recharge or ATK% / ATK% or Cryo DMG Bonus / CRIT Rate or DMG Sub 1. Energy Recharge 2. CRIT Rate or DMG 3. ATK% |
Vodyanitsa can make a convincing fourth slot option for Skirk's premium Freeze team, since she meets the conditions needed by Skirk and Escoffier's passives that strongly encourage you to compose a team of only Cryo and Hydro characters for the best possible damage.
Whether she is the best option in this slot still needs to be determined through post-release testing.
Freeze Team Rotation
| No. | Procedure |
|---|---|
| 1 | Start with Furina and use her Skill, then Burst. You can dash after her Skill to cancel the long animation. |
| 2 | Switch to Escoffier. Deploy her Skill, followed by her Burst. |
| 3 | Use Vodyanitsa's Skill. Burst is optional. |
| 4 | Deploy Skirk as the on-field character. Do a few Normal Attacks before using her Skill (tap). |
| 5 | Use Skirk's Elemental Burst to buff her Normal Attacks. This will also absorb nearby Void Rifts. |
| 6 | Deal damage with Normal Attacks, and after a few Void Rifts spawn, use her Charged Attack to absorb them. └ Optimal combo demo can be found here. |
| 7 | Repeat from Step 1. |
Substitute Characters
| Character | Sub | Details |
|---|---|---|
Skirk | Ayaka Ganyu Wriothesley Ayato Neuvillette | - Skirk has been known to be the de facto Freeze DPS for a lot of reasons, and more so since her personal damage is a cut above the rest of the alternatives. - However, any Cryo or even Hydro On-Field DPS can form a functional Freeze team alongside Vodyanitsa. As a rule of thumb, you'll want to adjust the lineup to have two Cryo and two Hydro for reliable Freeze uptime and an abundance of Hydro and Cryo Energy particles respectively. |
Furina | Yelan Xingqiu | - Yelan is the closest to Furina in terms of buffing value since she also has a DMG% increase on her Burst, but to a lesser extent than Furina. - Xingqiu is the 4-star version of Yelan, and while he doesn't offer any buffs, his Hydro application is both plentiful and consistent. - If the On-Field DPS is Cryo, you might want to flex a secondary Cryo applicator in this spot instead. |
Escoffier | Shenhe Mika Citlali | - Since Vodyanitsa offers the same RES Shred and healing effect, Escoffier is slightly more replaceable if you don't have her. - Any other Cryo support can be flexed in this slot, but you will at ideally want some support that can provide additional useful buffs or has consistent Cryo application. |
| Note! | Skirk and Escoffier both have passives that heavily discourage non-Hydro and Cryo teammates. Make sure to compose the team with these passives in mind to ensure the best possible damage results. |
