You will be offered to give the Wanderer a nickname near the end of the Archon Quest "Inversion of Genesis". You will need to give him a nickname in order to complete the quest.

At the end of the quest, a new gadget will be added to your inventory called An Appelative Stroke. This will allow you to rename the Wanderer once again.

This is the final time you can give a name to the Wanderer. Once you've used it up, there's no way to rename him again.

Wanderer Will Reject His Previous Names
Players cannot name the Wanderer any of the previous names he went by, This includes Scaramouche, Balladeer, and Kunikuzushi. Doing so will have him reject the names on the spot.
