Kazuha Mentioned The Island
At the first day in Golden Apple Archipelago, you get the quest The Golden Apple Vacation Returns! where you need to go to the island that Kazuha mentioned. Upon arriving the location, a cutscene will trigger.
Day 1 - Follow The Traces
Using Elemental Sight, you follow the traces where a Cryogunner Legionnaire is located. Defeating the enemy will trigger another cutscene and here you get the idea that the machine is related to the Fatui. This ends the quest for day 1.
Day 2 - Surrounded By Fatui
There is no progress for the quest The Golden Apple Vacation Returns! on day 2 but upon returning to the island, the sky has a red haze and there are a large number of Fatui scattered across the area. The broken devices on 3 different locations are guarded but still no available use or information.

On the top of the mountains on the Island North of Broken Isle and left of Twinning Isle exist 3 broken devices. Interacting with it will trigger a dialogue from Paimon.
