The NPC, who will later introduce himself as Mposo, will ask you for help to clear the Pulverite in the area, which will start the "A Brief History of Rocks" quest.

Mposo and the quest area are located near the Remnants of Tetenanco in Atocpan near the southeast entrance of the Ancient Sacred Mountain.
Part of the Path to the Flaming Peaks Quest Line
"A Brief History of Rocks" is one of the two optional quests that appear after receiving "The Way Into the Mountain" quest of the "Path to the Flaming Peaks" quest line. It opens a Spiritway that lets you travel to the Skyfire Circlet. Only one optional quest is needed to progress the quest line.

- Clear the Pulverite in the area

Find and touch any inscriptions that are scattered around the vicinity
- The inscription near the liquid phlogiston pool will sink, causing an enemy to spawn
Defeat the Fluid Avatar of Lava that spawns from the liquid phlogiston- Touch the remaining inscription that resurfaces after defeating the Fluid Avatar of Lava
- After the cutscene, a Spiritway will be unlocked, which leads to the Skyfire Circlet
