In the Northern Hemisphere, you will be able to get Acorns and Pinecones by shaking trees at the start of the month. You can get Acorns by shaking broadleaf trees and Pinecones from coniferous trees.
North: Bug Off On September 26th
In the Northern Hemisphere, there is a Bug Off bug-catching competition on the 26th of September (Sat). This will be the last Bug Off of the year so don't forget to get all the prizes from Flick!

Winter has gone and Spring has come. Starting from August 25th, southern hemisphere players can find Young Spring Bamboo on islands when they hit bamboo!
