How To Grow Purple Tulip Procedure Chart

No. Procedure
1 Purchase following seeds at Nook's Cranny:
- Yellow Tulip seeds
- Red Tulip seeds
2 Plant flowers diagonally from each other
3 Wait for flowers to grow (Needs 3 days to bloom)
4 Wait for orange tulip or black tulip to grow.
5 Plant tulips diagonally from each other to grow purple tulip hybrid
- orange x orange = purple
- black x black = purple
- black x yellow = purple

Purple tulips can only be grown by cross-breeding orange tulips. Purchase red and yellow tulip seeds at Nook's Cranny, grow them until they breed orange tulips, then cross breed them to get purple ones.

Seeds Change Every Day

Nook's Cranny's seed catalog changes every day. If they don't have tulip seeds for sale, you can ask a friend to bring some for you or go on a Mystery Island tour and grab tulips there.

You need to grow orange tulips first before you can grow purple tulips. Plant red & yellow tulips diagonally one space apart from each other to encourage cross-breeding.

Purple tulips can be sold for 240 Bells at Nook's Cranny. Selling flowers is not one of the most efficient ways of making Bells fast, so it's not recommended to sell them.

Breeding black tulips with black tulips also yields purple sometimes (still randomly but in my experience it has been more frequent than with orange)
