Japanese Holiday
Hey, everyone! I wanted to let you know that Nook Shopping has added some limited-time seasonal items, including something to help celebrate the Japanese holiday Setsubun. Pick yours up by 2/1 if you want to have it in time! pic.twitter.com/9wud0gIWK2

For those unfamiliar, Setsubun is a Japanese Holiday celebrated in early February where people throw beans at others wearing masks of "oni" (ogre-like creatures). This is said to chase evil spirits away, and bring in good ones.
No Plans For Special Event
Setsubun Day | February 2nd |

In real life, Setsubun will take place on February 2nd this year. However, there won't be any special event for this in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. You won't be receiving special DIY recipes or other rewards.
No Special Villager Conversations
Even when we spoke to villagers on the day of the holiday, we weren't able to spot any special dialogue lines that referenced Setsubun.

There won't be any special event, but there are in fact certain Setsubun related items for you to get. You can get these from Nook Shopping.

Face Cut-Out Stand
In Animal Crossing: New Leaf, it was possible to take a memorial photo in a face cut-out stand in the middle of the plaza. You weren't able to actually dress up in Oni (Ogre) clothing, but you could take a picture of yourself looking kind of like one!
Could Get An Ogre Mask
On Setsubun, you could receive an Ogre mask from Isabelle! You could choose from two possible colors for the mask: blue and red!
Villagers Threw Beans At You
If you walk around your village while wearing an Ogre mask, Villagers would sometimes talk to you and throw beans at you!
