1. Purchase Seeds At Nook's Cranny

Purchase Seeds At Nook

Purchase a bundle of Red and Yellow Pansy Seeds at Nook's Cranny. These pansies may also grow on your island or in a mystery island! If you find both Pansies, you can opt to uproot and replant them instead!

Seeds Change Every Day

Nook's Cranny's seed catalog changes every day. If they don't have Pansy seeds for sale, you can come back another day, ask a friend and bring you seeds, or even go on a mystery island tour and look for Pansies there!

2. Plant Pansy Seeds Diagonally

Plant Seeds Diagonally

The best way to get Orange Pansies is to plant the Red and Yellow Pansies in an alternating and diagonal pattern. You can refer to the image above as a reference on how you should plant the flowers. Make sure to leave at least one space for the flowers to grow.

How to Breed & Orange Pansy Price

Plant Orange Pansies Next to Each Other

Plant Orange Pansies Next To Each Other

Once you have at least 2 Orange Pansies, you can plant them next to each other in the same pattern. Watering them will increase the chances of them to produce another Orange Pansy!

Keep Watering Red & Yellow Pansies

Alternatively, you can keep on watering the Red and Yellow Pansies that you've originally planted. As long as there are still free spaces in between them, they have a chance to produce Orange Pansies.

Orange Pansies Sell for 80 Bells

Blue Pansies Sell for 80 Bells

Each Orange Pansy will sell for 80 Bells apiece at Nook's Cranny. However, this is not an efficient way to earn Bells fast so it is not recommended when you're trying to farm Bells.

A Note On Breeding

Flower breeding is a lot more complicated than one might expect, as it seems that flowers have their own individual DNA, which only gets more complicated the more you breed them. There can also be various different ways of getting the same color flower. This means that there is indeed an element of chance involved in the process.

If you use our combinations before and don't get the result you want, try the following:

  • Remove the unwanted flower and try again
  • Buy new flowers with "fresh" DNA
