What Is Diving/Swimming

Game System To Explore The Sea

Venture The Sea

Swimming and diving are two features new to New Horizons, but which existed in previous AC games. They will allow you to enter the water around your island and dive to the bottom of it. There, you can pick up various items, such as Sea Creatures.

The Wetsuit Is Required

The Wetsuit will be necessary in order to go swimming and diving. Just like the Shovel and Net, it will be sold at Nook's Cranny, going for 3000 bells.

It's unclear as of yet what the conditions for unlocking this item in the shop are. To be safe, we recommend players upgrade their Nook's Cranny to the highest level!

Swim With The Snorkel Mask

All players will receive a snorkel mask when the update hits - this mask can be worn while swimming and diving. This is a returning item, so make sure to read up on what it did in previous games!

How To Dive

Press A While Wearing The Wetsuit

In AC New Leaf, diving was as simple as pressing the A button while wearing a Wetsuit. It's very likely this will be the case this time around as well.

Ocean Features In Past Games

This information is about swimming/diving in New Leaf and other AC games.

Collecting Sea Creatures

diving

By diving in a spot on the sea where you see a fish shadow, you were able to obtain Sea Creatures. Just like regular fish, these creatures would change depending on the time of year. They included animals like octopi, scallops, and even giant crustaceans.

Get Stung By Jellfish

When swimming in the sea, it was possible to be stung by wandering jellyfish. Just like the wasps that come out of trees when you shake them, touching a nearby jellyfish caused you to become paralyzed and unable to move.

Pascal Event

pascal

When you got a Scallop, Pascol would appear in front of you and trade it for some Pirate Set furniture. The set of furniture in New Horizons seems to be Mermaid instead.
