Put Up Land For Sale
If you want to invite new villagers to your island, talk to Tom Nook in the upgraded Resident Services. Ask him to put land up for sale! The number of new villagers that will arrive will coincide with the number of lots you've put up for sale.

One way to invite new villagers to your island is to speak with them when they visit your campsite. This way you can select which villagers will reside in your island.

Villagers that you invite via Amiibo will show up in your campsite. From here, you can also ask them to live with you on your island.

Can Only Have Up to 10 Villagers
Your island can only accommodate up to 10 Villagers at a time. The only way you can get a new one when you hit the max amount is by making one of them leave.

Complete First Bridge Construction
You can only start inviting new villagers to your island after you've finished constructing the bridge. After which, Tom Nook will instruct you to choose 3 spots for new villagers to come live on your island!

Each plot needs interior and exterior furniture for it to be completed and be ready for habitation. Make sure to craft and collect all furniture needed for each plot!

New villagers will arrive on your island 1-2 real-time days after you've completed construction of the houses.
