How To Get Lily of the Valley (Jacob's Ladder)
Get A 5 Star Island Evaluation
The rare Jacob's Ladder flower will grow on your island as long as you're able to maintain a 5 star island rating! The flower itself will spawn randomly. We had our first flower bloom 3 days after getting a perfect rating. The second flower came 10 days after.

It appears that there are some cases where, although internally your island has reached a max rating, Isabelle only shows you 4 stars. This has been observed in cases such as leaving too many items scattered outside. Basically, the criteria is still a "max" rating, but that rating may fluctuate from time to time.
Note: Jacob's Ladder Is The Old Name
In previous games, this item was referred to as a Jacob's Ladder! In New Horizons, we've been able to confirm that this is not the case & that its in-game name is Lily of the Valley!
Lily of the Valley Color Varieties
Only 1 Color Variety?
The Lily of the Valley is a staple of the Animal Crossing franchise, appearing in many previous games, & in all of them the only color available was white. We have been unable to confirm any colors other than white for New Horizons, so we're inclined to say this is still the case.

Sells For 222 Bells
The Lily of the Valley can be sold for 222 bells at shops. However, given how rare they are, we don't really recommend selling this flower.
Make Your Island A More Beautiful Place
Unlike other flowers, you can't pick up a Lily of the Valley with the Y button! It can only be extracted with a Shovel. This item is really meant to be a sign of the fact that you've created a beautiful island! It has no real other uses.
