Golden Tools are special items which you can only get by meeting certain very challenging requirements. Each tool has a different requirement, and most of them are quite challenging and time-consuming!
Golden Tools Durability - Do They Break?

Prioritize Golden Net & Fishing Rod
You will be using your net and your fishing rod the most in the game so it's best to have the golden versions of each tool. This allows you to catch bugs and fish longer with the enhanced durability of the tools.
Axe & Shovel Have Medium Priority
Normal axes are just as good as the gold axe in terms of use, save for the longer durability of the gold axe. Gold shovels don't serve a heavy purpose as you can now make money trees by looking for the gold holes on your island.

The Golden Slingshot is tougher and hard to break but that's the only effect we've confirmed so far. The main purpose of the golden watering can is to breed gold roses. Other than that, you can use a normal watering can to water your flowers every day.
