New Horizons' Version Of Stock Market

Turnips are Animal Crossing: New Horizons' feature of a stock market. Players can purchase turnips on Sunday. Then, you can start selling them for another price from the next day. The selling price of the turnips changes every day.

Turnip Prices Change Twice A Day At Noon


Turnip prices fluctuate every day between approximately 50 to 150 Bells. Note that the pricing of the turnips changes at noon (12:00AM). You can check their selling prices at Nook's Cranny.

Every Sunday morning, Daisy Mae, the turnip seller visit your island to sell you turnips. The only way to get Turnips is purchasing from her.

Turnips Rot After 1 Week


Be careful not to hold your turnips too long since they rot 1 week after from purchase them. Make sure you sell them before Saturday 10PM since Nook's Cranny closes. Once it's rotten, the price of 100 turnips will automatically be 100 bell (1turnips = 1bell).

Turnips Also Rot If You Move Time Backwards

If you change the time backwards even by 1 minute using the Nintendo Switch System Setting, your Turnips get rotten.

Unlock Nook's Cranny

Unlock Nook

You need to first unlock Nook's Cranny to have Daisy Mae come over to your island. You'll need 30 each of wood, softwood, hardwood, and iron nuggets to build Nook's Cranny.

Once Nook's Cranny is built, Daisy Mae will come to your island every Sunday morning. She will sell you turnips and they are sold in 10-piece bundles.

You Can't Put Turnips In The Storages


You can't store your turnips in your house's storage. Instead, place them at your house since they take lot of your inventory spaces.

The best time to purchase turnips from Daisy Mae is when their prices are below 100 Bells. You'll make more profit if their prices are close to 150 Bells when you sell them.

If you are lucky, the price of turnip sometimes skyrockets. Visit Nook's Cranny and keep an eye on the price everyday.

Visit Other Player's Island To Sell Turnips


Each island has different pricing of Turnips. If you have a friend whose turnips' price is high, visit their island to sell your turnips.

Leaving Turnips At Other Player's Island

This method requires you to change time through system setting. Avoid using this method if you prefer to play without changing the time.


Usually, your turnips spoils after 1 week has passed or change your time backwards through system setting. However, if you leave your turnips on other player's island and change the time for best turnip price, your turnip won't spoil.

How To Sell Turnips For Best Price

1Purchase turnips at your island.
2Bring turnips and visit your friend's island
3Leave all of your turnips on the friend's island and go back to your island
4Change time through Nintendo Switch System Setting and seek for best timing to sell

6Sell your turnips at your island for the best price!

We've tested how the pricing changed over 6 weeks. In conclusion, we couldn't find the clear simple pattern on how the pricing moves but we'd like to share some of our findings.

Our Finding Of How Pricing Changes

  • The buying price won't fluctuate so much
  • The selling price changed between 23~194 bells in our testing period
  • In most of the time, The price rose in the middle of the week and went down in Saturday when we tested

Some Patterns Of Price Movement We've Confirmed

Mountain typePrice increase in the middle of the week and go down at the end.
Downtrend typePrice keeps on going down and never rise.
Zigzag typePrice fluctuates up and down every day with no trend.
