Latest Update Information

Ver 1.9.0 Announced

Release Date	March 18th

As was announced previously, the long-awaited Sanrio amiibo ACNH collaboration will be added to the game on March 18th. In addition to the amiibos, custom design expansion features as well as the Easter event will be added. There will also be additional seasonal items to obtain!

Sanrio Amiibo Cards Required

In order to access a lot of the new in-game content, you will have to actually own a compatible Sanrio Amiibo card. These will go on sale March 26th, so you'll have to get one that way.

Sanrio Amiibo Card Villagers Now Compatible

Following the update, players will be able to bring several Sanrio Villagers to their island by scanning amiibos! In total 6 new villagers will be available.

This update will add not only villagers but also items and clothing for you to obtain. Some items that weren't obtainable with amiibos AC: New Leaf will even be added!

Bunny Day (Easter) Event To Be Held

Date	March 28th to April 4th

The Bunny Day event has been confirmed to be returning in 2021. You'll be able to buy items newly added for this year during the event as well!

Custom Design Additions

You will now be able to get the Custom Design Pro Editor by purchasing it with Nook Miles. This will allow you to create new umbrellas, fans, flags, and face cutout stands.

Save Up To 100 Slots

The Custom Design Pro Editor will allow you to gain an additional 50 slots to save Custom Designs! This is a long-awaited change many designers will be grateful to have.

Custom Design Portal

You will now be able to buy the Custom Designs Portal on your in-game phone! Whereas before you had to download this from the internet, it is now available in-game at the cost of 300 Miles.

Seasonal Items Added

Seasonal items available for purchase from the end of March to the start of April have also been added. These items will go on sale in real-time.

Switch Online Bonus Added

By subscribing to Nintendo Switch Online, it's possible to purchase a Nintendo Switch Lite from the Nook Shop for bells. Different color Switches are available for sale depending on the day!

1st Anniversary Cake

When patch 1.9.0 hits, check your mail - you'll be getting a special cake to celebrate Animal Crossing: New Horizon's 1 year anniversary!

End Of March Nook Link Update

The Nook Link app will be getting an update towards the end of March. After this, you'll be able to gain Nook Points, which you'll be able to exchange for various in-game prizes, and even get advice from Katrina!

Easter Event To Be Held Again

Yearly events will now be available again after the March update. Some of these events couldn't be re-experienced even if you used Time Travel, but this seems to be set to change. New furniture is also set to be added.

Repetition Of Seasonal Events?

Given that Easter is being held again, we can safely assume that other seasonal events (which could only be experienced in real-time) will be re-held in 2021!

More Events Might Be Added

All of the characters and events originally scheduled to be added to the game are now in. That being said, there are plenty of other characters from previous AC games which haven't been implemented as of yet. Perhaps we can expect them to be added this year?

How To Update Your Game

Press The "+" Button On The Home Screen

Your game will automatically update as long as you're connected to the internet, though it may take a while before the download actually starts. If you want to manually check for game updates, select ACNH on your Switch's home screen and press the "+" button. Then go to Software Updates and download it manually.

Try Restarting Your Switch

If the game doesn't seem to be updating, it can be worth it to just turn your Switch device off and on. Hold the power button and select restart to do this.

Match Versions With Local Users

If you don't currently have an internet connection, it's actually possible to receive the latest software from another Switch device that has it already installed. Select the bottom option in the Software Update tab to do this!
