How To Make A Simple Flower Bed (Flower Field)

What You Need

Prep Sufficient Space

Preparation

In order to make a flower bed, garden, or field, you'll first need to decide on the scale and layout. If you want to plant an equal number of every available flower, you'll need a lot of space, considering there are 8 types of flowers in the game. Choose an unobtrusive location and level it before starting!

Add Soil/Dirt Using The Island Designer

Soil

You might want to designate the areas where you'll be planting flowers by laying some soil on them to give the area a more garden-like feel! If you do this, we recommend the Dark Dirt Path, the permit for which can be bought for 2,000 Nook Miles.

Add Some Color

Path

Once you've determined where your flowers will go, it's time to take care of the surroundings. Although it's optional, we recommend adding a path with a contrasting color. This is important for making your garden look even better, so don't neglect this step!

Set Up Fences

Fences

Try setting up a perimeter of nice-looking fences around your flower bed. While this may seem like a purely aesthetic choice, it's actually also very important to prevent you from accidentally running into the flowers and scattering their petals everywhere.

Finally, Plant The Flowers!

Flowers

Your last step will be to plant the flowers. Just be careful when placing them, as if you leave spaces between flowers, new flowers will bloom there!

Gorilla Fan's Garden

Completed
WriterGorilla FanEven the unruly Gorillas on my island need something nice to look at every once in a while. I designed this one using my favorite flowers and with a specific color gradation in mind. I chose not to make the area too big so it wouldn't get in the way of other buildings.

Pros To Making A Flower Bed

Easier To Catch Bugs

Many bugs spawn close to or on trees, such as butterflies and praying mantises. This is especially helpful on days when Flick comes, as you can catch tons of bugs quite efficiently.
