Luna, the mysterious Tapir, will be making a return to Animal Crossing in the July 30th Update! She was featured in previous games in the franchise as well, where she also helped players visit other villages in their dreams.

Luna will only be available in-game after the July 30th update has gone live! After you've patched your game to the latest version you should be able to meet her.
How To Meet Luna
Update To Ver. 1.4.0
The game must be updated to the latest version (1.4.0) that went live on July 30, 2020. Doing so will give you access to Luna and the Dream Suite.

After updating the game, check your mailbox for a letter from Luna. Take the present and unwrap it in your inventory. This is Luna's bed - it will help you access the Dream Suite. Note that any regular bed also works fine - it doesn't have to be Luna's special bed!

After you've received Luna's bed, go back to your house and put the bed in any of your rooms. Choose "Yeah, I want to sleep..." to summon Luna and the Dream Suite options.
Can Only Access In House
You can only access the Dream Suite inside your house. Placing the bed outside and lying on it will not open up the Dream Suite options or summon Luna.
The Dream Suite
Requires An NSO Membership
In order to upload your island or visit other dream islands, you will need to be a member of Nintendo Switch Online, which is a paid service. You can learn more about this membership from the Nintendo official website.
Share Island Or Visit Others' Islands
In Luna's Dream Suite, you can share your island to others as a dream to visit or visit other people's dream islands. This can only be done using Luna's bed that's been placed in your house.

The Dream Address is a necessary feature of the Dream Suite. Share the address for players to visit or input a Dream Address to visit other people's islands in your dreams.

Since you're dreaming, none of the actions you take on other islands will be permanent, so you can explore freely and do as you please! You can greet the island residents, enjoy the scenery, and even get custom designs other players have made!
