In order to build a bridge, you need to finish paying your second housing loan (98,000 Bells) to Tom Nook. After that, talk to Tom Nook and get DIY recipe for a Bridge Construction Kit.

Find A Spot To Build Bridge

Once you've crafted a Bridge Construction Kit, find a good spot to build a bridge. Note that you need the river to be just the right width with both ends of the bridge landing evenly.

Bridge Construction Takes 1 Day

Your bridge will be built on the next day you've set your Bridge Construction Kit. You and the villagers will have a small ceremony to celebrate your first bridge!

Can Only Be Built With Materials Once

The Bridge Kit can only be constructed once. Any subsequent bridges can only be built by talking to Tom Nook and paying for them with Bells.

Build More Bridges From Resident Service Building

After you've built your first bridge, you can make more bridges by talking to Tom Nook at the Construction Consultation Counter. However, you need to upgrade the Resident Service Building in order to use the Construction Consultation Counter.

How To Unlock Construction Consultation Counter

1	Finish building your first bridge
2	Help Tom Nook plot out 3 Housing Kits in your island and submit all required furnitures.
3	New Resident Service Building Opens. You can now use the Construction Consultation Counter.

There Are Variety Of Bridge Types

At Construction Consultation Counter, you can build many type of bridges. The cost of construction differs depending on which bridge you want to build.

Pay For Bridge To Lloyd

After you've placed your bridge kit, Lloyd will be stationed next to it, accepting any donations for the construction. Pay for all of it and the construction will be done by the next day.

Limit Of 8 Bridges Per Island

Same with Inclines, you can only have up to 8 bridges per island. If you want to change or add another one to another location, you'll need to destroy a previous existing one.

Bridge - Size & Types

Can Be 3 - 5 Blocks In Length

Bridges can be adjusted only in length, being able to fit from across 3 to 5 block. They all have a fixed width of 4 blocks.

Bridge Look Changes With Length

The shorter the bridge, the less water will be shown under it. If you want a bridge that shows off the water, we recommend extending to 5 blocks.

Diagonal bridges can also be created as long as you have diagonal parallel ground at both sides of the river. With the use of the Island Designer - Water Construction Permit, you can make it easier for you to create them.
